So I ask again, has it been brought to the attention of farmer and tjoe? I see no reason, if done properly, for either of them to deny a request. It would be easier than talking with us one on one.

Scott Farmer. T-Joe Savoie. These two men control our destiny. Both of them aggravate the heck out of me for one simple reason:

THEY DO NOT TALK TO THOSE OF US WHO BUY TICKETS AND SIT IN THE STANDS.

Depends on who the opponent would be.

I questioned the person on the other end of the line. One year later, it turns out all I got was lip service. So, yeah... It is my contention that you'll be told what you want to hear... I also had the pleasure of sitting next to a heavy hitter at the K State game last September in Manhattan. We discussed at length what was going on. Although pleased with some of the things that were going on, he wasn't all in by any means. Unprovoked, he named where the problem was. So, yeah.. I have spoken with folks. Im not impressed.

If our heavy hitters "know where the problem is", are we to assume that those guys are powerless to do anything about that "problem"? If an insurmountable problem exists that is holding us back, then why are we in the process of raising funds to expand and update our stadium? I like to believe that UL's administration is doing everything that can be done to gain the next open spot in CUSA. Maybe I'm naive, but I can see no reason why they wouldn't be.

What efforts have you made to have a conversation with them?

2 years ago nearly the entire brick facade on the east side of the stadium fell off. Cajun Field needs desperate renovations.

    I have talked to both.

    I posted yesterday "not recently."

I think the deciding factor would be the potential opponent. There is no doubt for the fans New Orleans is probably the top destination with few other being able to offer a destination as entertaining, convenient, etc. However, another Bowl like the Citrus could offer the opportunity to face off against a lower to mid level P5 program with the boost in perception for the program that a victory could bring. That and to show our fans will support the team beyond New Orleans is the reason for considering another Bowl.

Everyone knows this is temporary and and a timing based statement.

If UL wants in CUSA now is the time to get the greatest bang for the buck notice.

Public statements made now will get noticed and remembered.

If the drive to survive starts when there is an opening, UL's voice will just be a voice in the crowd.
All excellent points, but the comment about public statements is key, IMO. I've had one on one conversations with Scott where I expressed my dissapointment in the conference situation and his public statements on it. His reply was unconvincing and frankly, felt like I was talking to a car salesman.

I would like to see them meet with the RCAF membership and address these issues publicly. Give everyone the same story and on the record.

I think the situation / relationship between teams and conferences is different than employee and employer. The team / confetence relationship is more on an equal footing. And other than the top conferences, I don't think any mid-major conference has any illusions that any member will not be willing jump to a perceived better conference.

And Karl is not under any illusions as to where he and the conference stand with UL, especially when it comes to our fans. He has remarked to his golfing buddies the he doesn't think the UL (he threw in the extra L) like him. It was the most insightful thing I've ever heard him say.

Another angle is that if we have to beg to be part of CUSA, maybe we need to continue our path of winning and improving facilities and make them want us.

Has anyone ever seen a true all out public campaign begging a conference to invite them? I'm not being sarcastic here. I've never seen it. I would happily admit I was wrong if someone can provide the evidence of another school in the NCAA on their knees begging a conference for membership and it working.
