Is the New Orleans Bowl tied in with the Big West again next year? I guess the best possibility is playing a "name" opponent within 6 hours driving distance in an afternoon or night game.
    Or get into CUSA....
To many people, a better bowl is one that does not involve a Sun Belt tie in. For example playing in either Shreveport, Dallas, or Houston against a team from a Power 5 conference would be enticing. I do agree that New Orleans is better than Mobile, Montgomery, or Orlando. Those are all Sun Belt tie ins. A better bowl is having a good enough season you attract non Sun Belt tie in bowls. I recognize things have to break just right for that to happen.

    All this debating....

All things aside, would anyone rather go to the Cure Bowl in Orlando played in the newly renovated Citrus Bowl Stadium next year instead of New Orleans Bowl for a 5th straight trip?

When does the Sugar Bowl get the G5 rep? We need to go all in that year.

Edit: and between those two, nola for me. No question.

Dre, how many games did we win next year? Did we beat both Tech and Kentucky? Did we smash Tech at Tech? We did, didn't we? Did we drop a conference game? Come on man, did we go 12-0?! We did, didn't we?! Way cool! Then why ask about the Cure and New Orleans? Dude, did we get screwed on the access bowl after going 12-0!? It was Tech and Kentucky not being enough! Dang it! Did I lose more hair in 2015? I did, didn't I? Dang it!

T-Joe and Farmer don't want to meet with their detractors. They want to listen to the guys who worship every step they take. Or at least that is what it seems like to fans who are critical of their leadership.

I have expectations for both academics and athletics. If I were to grade T-Joe and Farmer respectively T-Joe would get a C+ and Farmer would get a C- based off of my expectations. Some would give them both A+ others would give D's. I'd give my reasons why I would rate each the way I do, but I'm turning in for the night. Otherwise I'd have a J1M thesis going on.
Who does? But you make it sound like they are hiding from everyone when that simply isn't the case. Both of them walk the tailgate areas before the football games. They are at most if not all of the basketball games. I don't know about baseball but you will see them at many of the softball games. And they have offices at which you can find them most days of the week. It doesn't take much effort for them to be found.

"There is no opening in CUSA"

Everyone knows this is temporary and and a timing based statement.

If UL wants in CUSA now is the time to get the greatest bang for the buck notice.

Public statements made now will get noticed and remembered.

If the drive to survive starts when there is an opening, UL's voice will just be a voice in the crowd.

Back when Nelson Schexnayder was AD he had a monthly meeting with key fans.

David Walker killed the interaction and thought flow.

I suspect that if Scott Farmer had taken over From Nelson instead of David, the monthly meeting would still be happening.

You said it, key fans. Those meetings are happening. Some who think that they should be involved need to look at their contributions. I know multiple people that meet with the admin regularly and are always in the know.

Exactly. Someone said earlier that it may be a matter of timing. When tjoe and farmer are walking around shaking hands is not the time to have a deep discussion but a very good time to set up a meeting.

As for those that think you have to wait for the UAB stuff to resolve before getting in front of the CUSA presidents... that's the kind of plan that makes your enemies defeat you.

Anyhow, you've been selected. Go find out stuff and report back. You are correct. Sending Girl Scouts out to sell cookies is pretty smart. You don't send angry men. Now get in touch with Scott and sell some cookies.
So once again, you don't want to take the initiative and do something. You want someone else to give it to you. I don't need to do ____. When I want more info, I will go ask for it. Get off your ___ and talk to the man yourself.

Those were highly organized regularly scheduled monthly round table meetings and not all were "big" donors.

I applaud your efforts in this regard.

Alright fellas, I actually got a phone call last fall right after the UL-L debacle with whiny sssed ulmost. I had called RCAF and told them to back my monthly contribution down to the minimum because we had no nuts.(certainly not how I phrased it to the young lady I spoke with, but you get my drift) I immediately got a call back. I questioned the person on the other end of the line. One year later, it turns out all I got was lip service. So, yeah... It is my contention that you'll be told what you want to hear... I also had the pleasure of sitting next to a heavy hitter at the K State game last September in Manhattan. We discussed at length what was going on. Although pleased with some of the things that were going on, he wasn't all in by any means. Unprovoked, he named where the problem was. So, yeah.. I have spoken with folks. Im not impressed.
