After the last conference realignment debacle there was an invitation only meeting. I'm not sure what the giving level was but us peons were not invited. As for requesting it, who do you direct the requests to since we do not have an Executive director of RCAF? I've sent e-mails to T-Joe. The complimentary ones were answered by Ms. Landry. The contentious or critical ones were ignored.

Possibly the director of athletics? Do you go to the CEO when you have problems with the accounting department?

I told you how I got a conversation and you want to whine about not being invited to a meeting. Major contributors get perks everywhere. Up your ante or actually make an effort to get in front of our admin.

Dude, you obviously have not been paying attention. You have no ____ing idea of attempts I have made to get "in front" of the admin. In fact basinbear witnessed my last encounter with our AD.

And while you may think it's "whining" to think the admin should be available to all contributing RCAF members and not just a select few, I prefer to think of it as demanding accountability. I doubt that I'm alone in that regard.

Ok, well, let's think about this. I am a peon just like you. I have no connection with Scott farmer except that we frequent the same sporting events. Yet, when I requested a conversation, I got it right away.

I don't know if you were part of the threads, but there have been multiple ones that people act all big and bad posting their names. Whomever is reading these boards is not stupid. Some of the things said here are grounds for the poster to never be given the light of day from our admin. Then they go and post their name. Hmmmm. I do my best to be respectful when posting about our admin and have never posted my name on this site. Maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know. It just seems that there is more to your story considering the drastic differences between the two.

Has this idea been brought up yet..

How about we play a regular season "home" game in the Superdome against a non-conference opponent, or hell, a conference opponent. Maybe we would bring more than 18-20k..sure are nicer accommodations

    Look.
It feels helpless to sit here for the past month and see nothing going on.
I am VERY suspicious of this "don't worry, there is talk about it behind closed doors theory..."

    Why?
Because if there is such discussion, there would have to be at LEAST a dozen or so "in the know." And that is enough for at least some leakage....and I am aware of none.
There are no "whispers" in the Advocate, the Sadvertiser, etc.....

For example: I am quite sure that there was a TREMENDOUS amount of "behind closed doors" discussion in the past two weeks about Michigan's negotiations with Harbaugh. And guess what Like all such discussions, there are always -ALWAYS- a few that can't keep their mouths shut. Thus, there is leakage.....

Again, regarding ANY discussion of UL being considered by CUSA that I hear (from looking at the CUSA boards, Underdog Dynasty, and (believe it or not) simple Google searches is
    NADA - Nothing - Zilch.....

I think WE need to create our own "press"
Can Jay or any other regular contributor PUBLISH a few Pieces (i.e., more than one) on what we need to do and how important this is to get out of the SBC??
I keep thinking about something like a "letter to our congressman/senator" campaign....
SOMETHING to at least least make our own rumors so we get SOME traction....

Can you please clarify what you're trying to say in this post? I know for a fact that some whom have posted their names on this site are very, VERY large contributors and know WAAAY more than they post on RP. I'm just not quite understanding what you're saying in regards to that...

I am saying that people run their mouth, post their name, and then don't expect that name to get to the people they are trashing.

If Joe blow said you are a piece of crap and then you get an email from joe blow wanting a meeting, how would you react? Welcome with open arms?

I believe there has been discussions and that negotiations are ongoing. But the administration has nothing to gain and everything to lose bt allowing leaks

I understand the sentiment, but a few of those guys have long standing relationships with figure heads in the admin, prior to their current positions.. And if a critique is dead on, and in many cases they are, have no respect for someone who can't own their baggage, and at least accept a discussion about it..

Please excuse my sarcasm, but do you men:
Farmer: Hey T-Joe, you hear UAB is giving up football>
    T-Joe: So?
Farmer: The folks at CUSA may want to either replace them or expand to 14 ...
    T-Joe: 14 - "what"?
Farmer: 14 Teams. You interested in trying to get into CUSA this time?
T-Joe: I AM pretty comfortable with SBC, but go ahead and send them that Power Point, can't hurt....
    Farmer: I'm on it, boss.....

I doubt those relationships were that strong if a) the admin won't have a discussion and b) they are willing to ridicule to the extent that some have on this board. JMHO.
