I arrived at the appointed time. The 2 things I remember most is President Savoie's constant use of UL Lafayette and the shockingly low numbers that came. There was less than 30 people there. This was after this board pounded the administration for years about establishing an athletic fund. When they do, know one shows up to join or donate or get information about RCAF. I don't know if they every held another, if they did I did not hear about it. It also does not free them of the responsiblity of keeping us informed and I do think they should have kept up the effort. However, if they have a meeting to inform us and no one shows up to listen maybe they thought no one was interested.
Bustle Era is not the HUD Era..
And yes, many ppl here attended (5 off the top of my head).

Which one of Bustle's 3-6 win seasons did this meeting occur?

Hud's value to UL has been far more than winning games. The fact that we are debating RCAF direction; conference stuff; bowl preferences and wish list; $150MM in facility improvements; enrollment growth etc.....any/all of the credit traces back to Hud.

How many rcaf members were there when this meeting took place compared to now? We could have had the qb club meeting in a 2 door honda at the end of the bustle era.

Not to be argumentative, but there is a difference between a meeting to announce the formation of RCAF and solicit membership and a meeting to apprise members of the admin's goals, plans and current actions. I didn't need to attend any meeting to entice me to join RCAF. I, like midst here, had been waiting decades for just such an organization.

And to be honest, if scheduling a meeting is too difficult and time consuming, at least send out quarterly reports addressing the concerns of the membership. Set up a website dedicated solely to RCAF that U.S. maintained and monitored daily (or at least weekly) where members can submit questions to be answered either on the site it in the next quarterly newsletter.

The main point us end the behind the scenes bull____ secrecy and communicate with the boosters.

I've never been able to attend any of the RCAF functions at Cypress Bayou. Do they not discuss business at those events? Is it just a short review of the year?

I attended the first two. Mainly just a big cocktail party /pep rally with a band, which is nice but not informative. Oh, you will get some numbers thrown at you about monies raised, athletic success and academics as it relates to athletics but no real info on goals, plans, etc like we are asking for here.

There has been some really great discussion in this thread about the many issues that face our most important cog in the wheel of expansion & future progress. A blitz of donors who have a voice is really our only option at this point. While I agree SF is somewhat of an obstacle, lets focus on Savoie and the RCAF brass. I'll even include a passage like "I'm decreasing (not eliminating) my donation this year because of the delay of the separation of RCAF, hiring of THE fundraiser, and a few other inconsistencies". Hopefully they'll respond with questions.

    Absolutely ok by me!

This is a MUST happen situation. Please forward to as many as possible. I guarantee you that a crowd will show up with plenty of questions. In order to get things done, done right, and in a timely manner you need help by the people who are WILLING to help.

This meeting MUST take place in the next 30-45* days or we may be sitting watching that ship get smaller and smaller.

Once again, I'm a peasant with an open wallet and a high passion for Cajun Athletics. I can't get anything accomplished without direction. Like I said earlier....If the right person is reading this, make it happen---yesterday!
