Thread: 2015 Cajuns' defensive concerns are front-loaded

  1. Default 2015 Cajuns' defensive concerns are front-loaded

UL — It's the end of an era on the Louisiana defensive front.

Somehow, the Cajuns will have to figure out how to replace two of the cornerstones of their program, as well as a couple of highly productive linebackers on the second level of the defense.

This might be the biggest challenge facing the Cajuns next season, because when their team was going right, it usually coincided with outstanding play from the defensive front seven

Good analysis. Need these guys to step up and fill those big shoes so we can get one for the thumb

I guess a lot of players have 4. I wonder how many have a shot at 5? Are we picking up any JUCO transfers to help the DL depth?

Roderick Stephens, taboris lee, Ladarius Kidd, Briscoe, Douglas, White.
I know we lose 2 studs, but I think we can replace them without losing a whole lot of effectiveness.

Yes.....the young man we placed from Farmersville 2 years ago is a commitment. Please see updated commitment list at Louisiana.scout.com

Yes, I think our bigger issues will continue to be in the secondary. Taboris Lee was a lot like Ringo and I think will be a lot like him in the future. He was in the backfield against Nevada almost as much as Ringo and Juice. I liked what I saw at times from Briscoe and I think White and Douglas are very athletic. I like what we have coming back especially now that it seems we may actually have an edge rusher in Darzil Washington.

Call me crazy, but I think the secondary is going to be much improved. Tracy Walker looks like a good one and we'll add Brazil and Thomas to the fold. There's good reason to believe that we will be much improved there and at linebacker.

the potential to b really good on defense is there again. It will all depend on schemes.

Offensively we desperately need to stretch the field more vertically. If we can do that we will be very dangerous.

Where I think we need the most improvement is in the return game. We sucked this year.

Briscoe looked overweight and slow off the line. I would be surprised if he is a significant contributor. Excited to see Washington next year.

Briscoe will move back to the middle where he belongs.
