I would be really happy if it is Haack because he seems to be a quality young man.
And you need to watch the film again sir. BH's pass to Larry was intentionally thrown "behind" him due to the position of the linebacker. The Riles play was an ouatanding effort by Al, but what was more impressive was Brooks' ability to be elusive, extend the play, and keep his eyes up the field to FIND a receiver.

Answer your own question.. How many times, and give and example.

Any number of his TD passes to the back corner of the endzone.

Back to the point of the thread. I hope haack wins the job. If he doesn't, I hope it's because somebody better than him has stepped up. My only point is that if you look at the play on the field, haack has thrown 50 passes in his career. Not enough in my book to crown him without a competition.

I just watched both Haack and Davis' high school highlight both looked like good passers. We should be in good hands regardless of who wins the job. If I were starting a team tomorrow and had to pick one of the 2 I'd go with Davis. Both can pass but Davis gives you more athleticism and can make things happen with his feet when no one is open. He is a couple inches taller an just looks the part of a college QB. I realize my assessment is off of high school highlights and I have no clue as to how well he is picking up the offense. As far as pure upside Davis has that hands down.

You may be exactly right, but Haack has been in the system 3 years now. He should have a good understanding of our playbook and the confidence to make it work. It sure sounds like the cubbord is not bare for next season.

Yep. No doubt Haack should have the best grasp of the play book today. The curious thing is and remains to be seen will they play for sept 2015 or sept 2015-2018. The latter would no doubt be Davis just going on upside.

That's not necessarily true. Haack could throw 50 plus TDs in the next two years easily. In fact I would be willing to bet that if Haack starts the next two years he would have over 55 passing TDs by the time his career is over.

This would also give Davis the opportunity to mature as a player and develop more of that raw ability we keep hearing about. Imo you want a QB to develop for three years and start for 2. That to me is a sign of very good recruiting and player development.

There is absolutely no way any of us can make that type of call today. Let the young men do their thing this spring/summer/fall, coaches will let the competitive process settle itself. Freshmen QBs coming in this summer included......The one that emerges with our best chance to win games in Sept 2015 will get the nod.

You do know only one year of eligibility separates the 2 of them right? I see the loser of this battle transferring for playing time.

2 years. Jordan Davis will be red shirt freshmen and Brooks Haack will be red shirt junior
