It's BS. This is strictly about next year.

By the way, Haack throws a prettier pass than Brian Mitchell. Jake Delhomme only wishes he could run like Jalen Nixon. I guess I just ridiculed and disparaged Brian and Jake. Oh well... it's about our QB next year. Terrance, Brian and Jake are ineligible. But I just gave Terrance a seat at the table with two of our best.

Let's move this back to next year's QB hopefuls. I'm sure if we work hard enough, we can ridicule and disparage them, without invoking the name of our prior greats.
But the discussion brought up redesigning the offensive style because of the different strengths and weaknesses of next year's QB compared to this year. In order to further explore that subject the comparison of strengths and weaknesses was a natural progression of the thread. This was not a hijacked thread, we're still on next years QB. Free Haack.

Those who were impressed by the limited snaps Haack got this season are using that evidence to argue that he should be the Q at the beginning of the season.

Not sure why so many posters are gettign their panties in a wad and being so defensive of B-Way. I guess its leftover feelings from the in season qb discussion.
Then why is anyone even bringing up TB. As far as I know nobody has seen Davis while here. This competition probably won't be settled in the spring, To continue to compare haack and TB at this point is pointless, it's irrelevant. To continue to point out TB's deficiencies at this point just comes off as being a hater.JMO

Why don't you direct that at those who decided to take shots at Broadway along the way. The majority of my posts in this thread are about haack and the other hopefuls, stating that the verdict is still out on haack. That his limited time isn't a good indicator of what he will be long term. That he should be judged the same way that past qbs have been judged and not crowned the starter without a competition.

You're right. I let a comment or two bring back all of the in season discussion of TB.

And I stated in another thread that I couldnt care less who the starting QB is next year. As long as it's the guy who gives us the best chance to win, something that I'm sure will be determined in the offseason.

My apologies for derailing the thread, if I indeed did so.

That offense redesign, first of all, is a myth. We won't go "pro style". We're still going spread. We have ample plays in our spread offense to include any one of our new QBs full compliment of strengths. Plus, Haack can run. When a QB is more of a threat to throw, but also has field awareness, he can punish defenses by running in the lanes provided (blazing speed or not) by the pass threat. I have no fear that Haack can't run our spread. By the same token, Jalen may exhibit throwing and running skills that fit even better with our returning offensive unit. I feel a lot of our offense familiarity will have to be overcome by anyone other than Brooks or Jalen... but brand new QBs have left HS spread systems and entered collegiate spread systems and thrived immediately.

There may be, in one or all of our candidates, a leadership characteristic that eclipses all others. There's a big difference in behavior and self-identity when you know the fresh year could be yours. It was virtually impossible for anyone to believe they were going to supplant Terrance last year, barring injury. This year, it is open for the taking.

Agree wholeheartedly with the last part. Broadway's career has ended. And it ended with him being the most accomplished QB in school history. Pointing out what he wasn't instead of celebrating what he was is a disservice to all that he accomplished.

As for next year, may the best man win.

What's exciting to me is we just witnessed the winning-est senior class in the history of our program. We had a 2.92 GPA this semester... the best in school history. For the 2nd consecutive year we have led the sunbelt and the state in graduation rate..... and whats better than that?

Well for one we have the ability to do better next year... out right sunbelt title? 10 wins? 5 bowl wins in a row? Should I give a da%n which bowl?

Things are looking up and we had a group of seniors that have four straight bowl wins and a conference title under their belt. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this for a little while.... No bit&hing from me.

Don't hold mere to the exact stat but I think we are after 4 years 36-8 against g5s........Who wouldn't beg for that record.......we keep the same offense and as was evident we tweaked the defense........I still want my southpaw to run my offense (2qbs)......lol!!!
