Every time we've been able to throw 200+ yards this year we have won.

I believe we have the pieces to have a very balanced, very potent offensive attack. Gabe will be back, and can really contribute in the slot, and Jamal (should) be back, giving Brooks a proven commodity on the outside. I would understand the staff going with a dual-threat guy; but I really hope they give BH the chance to take the reigns.
Haack provides the ability to stretch the field vertically and that will create more opportunities for the RB's. As Broadway created the threat to run and kept the defense guessing on which one of the 3 would get the ball, haacks ability to stretch it vertically should keep the defense guessing. We do have receivers that have vertical ability...just didn't have the right guy throwing it to them to create that threat. IMO, both qb's create a different kind of threat...both of which can create oppertunities within the offense
It's better to be thought of as a fool rather open your mouth (use key board theses days) and remove all doubt.
Off course you don't want a QB who can't pass. Everything I hear coming out off camp is Davis is the passer that Haack is but with much more speed and athleticism. Why would you not like that. Unless you've got a dominating O line and a stable of NFL running backs like your top SEC schools having a QB threat to run is the equalizer.
See Fenroy and Desormeux. If Fenroy was in that exact offense personell wise with a QB that could not run and the D only had to worry about him he wouldn't have near the yards he had. The same can be said for Zo and Eli.
As I previously stated I have nothing against Haack and I am not pulling against him if he is our best and wins the job I am behind him 100%. I just think it would be better for our program if one the Freshman are a more complete QB and is hands down clearly better.
It's wonderful to to even argue about this choice.
The fact that people keep saying McGuire won't be as successful without a running threat at QB is just stupid. McGuire would put up numbers of I was the QB. Haack might not open lanes for McGuire with his legs but his passing ability will pull defenders from the box, which would open up lanes. For those using the Fenroy argument...Fenroy might not have had the yards he did without Desmo and Babb BUT McGuire is not Fenroy. I loved Fenroy but he is in no way comparable to the talent McGuire has. I won't even listen to an opinion in which anyone thinks Fenroy is in the same stratosphere as McGuire.
With that said I don't care who the QB is, as long as we win.
I feel pretty confident that HUD and Johnson will make the right choice, whichever one it turns out to be.
