Yes! Yes! Yes! Agree 1000% An offense like that with the players we have would get us over the hump.

It's wonderful to to even argue about this choice.

The fact that people keep saying McGuire won't be as successful without a running threat at QB is just stupid. McGuire would put up numbers of I was the QB. Haack might not open lanes for McGuire with his legs but his passing ability will pull defenders from the box, which would open up lanes. For those using the Fenroy argument...Fenroy might not have had the yards he did without Desmo and Babb BUT McGuire is not Fenroy. I loved Fenroy but he is in no way comparable to the talent McGuire has. I won't even listen to an opinion in which anyone thinks Fenroy is in the same stratosphere as McGuire.

With that said I don't care who the QB is, as long as we win.

I feel pretty confident that HUD and Johnson will make the right choice, whichever one it turns out to be.

Haack, to me, makes great reads under center. If he could pick up a run/pass option it could be dangerous. Imagine Eli in the backfield on play action with a qb that was a threat down field, or the opposite on a draw play.

None of us know who is the best. The sample size is too small. Everyone says Haack is a great thrower. How many balls over 20 yards has he thrown in a game? Not many. Have we seen any of these guys adjust to in game situations? Haack for one game and he was not up for the challenge. Nixon has never started a game, and we all know playing a whole game is much more difficult than stepping in when the defense game planned for someone else.
My only hope is that our offense is adaptable enough to play to each guys strength. Looking forward to the battle.

I completely respect your opinion. Haack may, in fact, be the right guy next year. I just have a hard time crowning him without a competition. Haack has great numbers (for very limited snaps). He has played in 10 games where he tallied passing stats. Only 3 of those games did he throw more than 10 passes. In all 3 of those games, we left with an L. He absolutely didn't lose those games, but he didn't pull us through to a W. The one game he started, we got destroyed by South Al. Again, he didn't lose that game, but also didn't win it for us. He's made some great passes. He's made some easy passes. I recall one heave that Riles made a highlight catch on. When it's all said and done, he threw 6%/13% of the passes that Broadway threw in 2013/2014. That is a very small sample size in actual game experience. I really wish he would have gotten more mop up time this year.

Whoever wins out, support em. I'm done questioning the coaching staff. Next year, we will up our donation and double the season tix and show up and yell. It's what they deserve!
