All in the narrative crawfish. The best pass on that drive was the one that hit Robinson in the numbers in the endzone. Brooks threw 4 passes that drive. 1 shovel which Broadway has completed 100 times. 1 swing which Broadway has completed 100 times. A pass behind Pettis where he made an amazing adjustment and catch. A prayer that Riles reeled in with a sportscenter highlight catch. This is not to downplay haacks ability. It's to show the blatant double standard between the two players. I'm glad Broadway gets to ride off into the sunset with his 2 mvp trophies and multiple career records at UL. It's a shame that the leader of our most successful stretch in program history is ridiculed more than praised for his gutsy career.

The pass to Pettis was thrown in the ONLY spot that it could be completed, as was the pass to Riles. The Pettis pass was a back shoulder throw to create the separation necessary to complete the pass. It was only a bad pass if you consider every back shoulder throw made by Peyton Manning or Tom Brady a bad pass.

The Riles pass was thrown to the only spot on the field that was both safe from interception and possible for our guy to make a play. Did Riles make a great play? Sure.. but the only reason he COULD was because Haack put the ball exactly where it HAD to be to give us a chance.

It's a "wash and repeat" double standard that is not exclusive to any player or program. Following losses and/or unexpected poor program performances, the incumbent QB's flaws (real or contrived) are always easily remedied by the perceived gifts of an untested standby... until such time as said standby becomes the incumbent. At such time, a new standby is granted untested gifts that are sure remedies to the flaws (real or contrived) of the former standby/new incumbent.

Due to your proclivity toward overprotection of all incumbents... the only curiosity is... who will you be defending against whom next year. "That" is the subject of this thread.

I'm not so sure about your assessment of the Pettis catch. The Riles pass was in fact thrown in the only place where he could make a play.

Interesting. My point has been proven. How many throws that Broadway made in a spot that only our receiver could catch have ever been defended on here? Oh wait, Broadway just "heaved" it and our receivers made a great play. Haack did make two good throws on that drive. And several of you are quick to point that out for him. Double standard.

I will probably be defending haack if he is the starter because, like you stated, the same who want to crucify Broadway will turn on haack at the first sign of poor play.

Some would say that Haack not only throws a more accurate spiral but he also went through his reads and found the TE and kept his eyes down feild on a scramble. Things that, IMO, TB was not great at.

And there were lots of things TB was really good at, leadership, toughness, running, getting us in the right play, with exception of a couple games he took care of the football better than most, he won a lot. 3 bowl wins, conference championship and 2 bowl MVP, winningest QB in cajun history, leads most statistical categories and accomplished that in 3 years.

I was about to post the same thing. Everybody is saying Haack will be great based off of those two passes where truly the receivers made great great catches. I do give him credit for the scramble that set up the riles catch though. I personally think it will be jordan Davis but may the best qb win

He scrambled and threw a pass that gave the reciever a chance to make a play on the sideline.

Better than airing the ball 5 rows into the stands when the pressure came.
