Masson had a good game and I am sure will have a great career at UL.
Jefferson had a good Chick-Filet bowl and is showing growing pains at times with only 5 starts under his belt. I am confident over his career he will do just fine-and before its all said and done will be one of the better QB's in the SEC.
If you wish to feel I was disrespectful, so be it. I think my history shows a fair amount of respect to all things Cajun. I don't see disagreement and disrespect as the same thing, but each to our own.
I thought the Cajuns "played a fairly good game" as well.
Good luck the rest of the way.
Ok Ok... LSU is the greatest....most fabulous... the #1 university throughout all of America.....They took it easy on us... they let us stay in the game because of the kindness of that great American... that seer of all that is true and wonderful in mankind... yes Les Miles...We know our place... we know we are not deserving of being on the same field as LSU... we thank you from the very bottom of our heart for letting us touch our cleats on the holy grail that is Tiger Stadium and ask that perhaps one day if we are all good little boys and girls that you allow us back... just once... and we promise until then to continue to know our place and not create any stir or suggestion that we are anything more than just a flea to your elephantness...
Happy??? Now go away![]()
All that sarcasm cause I said in my opinion "what ifs" bounce both ways?
Take your "We know our place" to someone else...in my opinion ones place is where they make it and not where anyone else might think it should be.
When/if Turbine decides my input is a negative factor on his forum, all he has to do is to ask me to "go away" and it's done. I'm afraid that, to this point in time, IHateLaState doesn't have that kinda creditability with me...is there another screen name you go by cause you might have better luck with that one.
Have a good weekend.
All I know is that LSU had its first team offense in the game in the fourth quarter for that final touchdown. Think that speaks volumes to how the Tigers had to claw for every yard.

I don't think your point actually "rains" on anyone's "party" WRT the "what ifs". I agree, for instance, that had Jefferson put more touch on his deep ball, he may/likely would have connected. There wasn't "great separation" established at any point on his missed deep balls, but I did feel with a better timed release (earlier) 50% of those would have gone for completions. I was impressed that, despite those balls being underthrown, that our coverage guys were reading the receiver/ball and got into position, rather than the common interference that usually occurs in those circumstances. In other words, despite Jefferson's poorly timed passes on the deep balls, we covered exceptionally well. UL more than countered those "what ifs" with dropped passes tossed right in open players' hands.
But, UL failed to capitalize on about 6 LSU miscues. LSU did not fail to capitalize on any UL miscues. Those "what ifs" are the critically important differences I think people are pointing out. Your blanket statement about every game has "what ifs" does not take into account the specific games where there were a balance of miscues on only one side. That happened in the LSU UL game. It wasn't a talent issue... IMO it was a "nerves issue".
I think the worry at halftime of the Troy game was way more than the worry at any point during the UL game (except prior to kickoff).
My opinion of why the UL game was so much closer than the score was not the missed passes and picks. Those were painful. But, it was the ball played on the field as a whole. I also believe UL's goal line TD was a TD, the safety was a safety, and a critical third down conversion by LSU wasn't a first down. There were no equivalent poorly called plays that in any way assisted UL. With no changes to the play on the field... but better calls by the refs... the score would have been much closer.
I have some very sharp and honorable LSU football fan friends (way above the average... and I know the average ones as well). They totally agree with my assessment of the game. The only thing that puzzles them is if LSU may be a lesser team than they have had in the past many years and does that account for a much more evenly played game... especially what went on in the trenches. We shall see.
Actually no I wont...
Once again what this thread was doing was talking about OUR team... and what the performance against an ostensibly top ten team indicates to OUR team....
the a&M@br trolls simply HAVE to jump in and tell us (our place dont you know) the way "it really was".....
You are what your record says you are... and you are what the scoreboard says you are... 28 points worse than a&m@br.... I get that
but please allow us to analyze our own performance in peace.... well guess that really is not possible now is it....![]()
