I wish I could agree with your "when", but it more of an "if". Actually, I think it's written into the rules of the Heisman. No G5 players...

Jordan lynch for niu was about as close as you can get. Honestly, if a g5 player can get invited to new yours for the ceremony that's about all you could ask for... Almost as good as winning it.

Not saying he's going to win for sure. But he definitely gets a free chicken dinner at the Manhatten Club. He will be a finalist for that award. So why not start politicking for him to win it now?

If Marshall Faulk (SDST) just kept getting "invited", even after his body of work... you are absolutely correct. And the system has only gotten worse. How Elijah can get the votes to be invited is a mystery to me. The voters are simply not going to acknowledge an SBC athlete for this honor. I hope I'm wrong.

If we did enough to ESPN that they like to mess with our branded name, I am sure we are able to bombard those that vote to at least get his name mentioned. Then again, not sure if that's a good thing. We are a persistent bunch of Cajuns.

That's kinda what I meant... It my mind, if he would get invited... He was probably actually good enough to win it.

I bet if our mascot was an Indian they wouldn't mess our name up all the time.

If Melvin Gordon rushed for 2300 yards and 26 touchdowns and didn't win it. It would take Elijah 3500 yards and 35 tds to win it. I just don't see that as possible

If fans say "no" it won't happen.

All Heisman winners benefit from a marketing push.

Elijah will need more than 20 carries per game.
He will need 2000+ yards JUST TO GET MENTIONED.
He will need 2500 to get an invite.......

    Oh, Just as important:
He will need to UL AD's "Marketing Dept" to:
    1. Show up to work
    2. Pull their collective heads out of their butts
    3. Put together SOME effort at "marketing".....

It'll have to come on the heels of an undefeated season and a big boy bowl birth
