The Pistol offense is the most versatile offense in the game. It allows for play action, option or a power run game.

As it stands right now we have no one to replace Harris on offense. McGuire cannot handle a full load for more than a game. Haack can get every WR/TE involved in the offense. Also as it stands now, all signs are pointing to having Jamal Robinson back next season.

As far as Nixon is concerned, I'm sorry but when you get to the point that the NCAA suspends you for drug use you have lost your shot at QB. Now if Jordan Davis beats out Haack then so be it.
Broadway got sacked often because our line seemed geared to run blocking a lot more than pass blocking. I have doubts that anyone will hold up as a pass first quarterback with this years line. We need a guy who is good at both. Broadway was very good at running, and pretty adequate at passing.

I think we saw that without a guy like Robinson he had lots of trouble passing in the red zone all season long, and came up short often on the deep ball.

Haack? I kind of think he needs a lot better line than Broadway had to be successful, and we may be better at pass blocking in 2015 who knows today.

Broadway got sacked often because he took to long to make decisions. Haack does not have that problem.

Broadway got sacked a few times because he was slow to release the ball. Also a passing QB will get sacked more due to more attempts.

He often got sacked because we did a poor job of picking up charing defensive ends. Almost always an outside rush got him. So I am not putting it all on him, he rarely got three seconds on those sacks.

Also the one time Haack got in this year he was lucky to escape with his life, he did however, make the passes.

There were spots where he took too long and got sacked as a result - yesterday had one - but there were many, MANY more times this year where he was simply under pressure before finishing his drop or having a chance to make any kind of read. Too many of those were guys on a free rush. And frankly, I don't think we've seen enough of Haack in normal game situations to say what problems he does or doesn't have. I think we had a much better run-blocking line this year. I'm hopeful that our line improves next year, even with the loss of Quave.

For the record, I'm pulling for Haack. I prefer a traditional drop-back passer type of offense. But we're going to have to get a lot better at pass blocking. And maybe having Haack will take some handcuffs off Johnson from a playcalling standpoint. I know Broadway doesn't like throwing to his left, and it would seem he doesn't like throwing over the middle/to the seams for whatever reason. Having those routes available will help. But whoever the QB is will need more time, bottom line.

I don't think we'll be changing our offensive strategy much. TB was a tough runner and made good decisions on the option, but he went down quickly when given the chance, so to avoid taking a hit. Which, I'm not totally against, because we don't want the QB taking hits. However, I think the other QB's, if they have any kind of athletic ability, should be able to do the same thing when we need the QB to keep on the option. I would also like to see a more wide open offense that can threaten down field. Accuracy from the remaining QB's remain a mystery to me and until I see some actual game time action, it's going to be hard to assess what we have. I just want the best QB to out there, I don't care if its a freshman or a junior.

That pretty much says it all.

Disagree. If he doesn't have a shot to start at QB then he wouldn't be on the team
