There is a difference between slim chance and not eligible. They had a great record against a weak schedule. You have to schedule right...you know what won't get you an at large? Losing games you should win. I understand the at large is tough, doesn't justify losing to teams you should beat. We have an sec/nba player and a big 12 player on the court right now.

Not single games here and there. I'd like to know exactly what you are looking for in a Cajuns basketball team. That may make it easier for some of us to put it in perspective. We went 23-12 last year. We won 3 games in the conference tournament to make the dance. We played a respectable game against Creighton. Would you trade an appearance in the NCAA tourney to get back an early season loss to McNeese? Would you trade a conference championship to get back this loss to NwSt? Both of those goals are still ahead of us. We could be 0-11 right now and those goals are still attainable. I want postseason appearances. That may change when conference realignment comes around, but baseball and softball are the only sunbelt teams that will be able to make realistic national championship runs. A sunbelt team will never make the NCAA football playoff. A sunbelt team would have to have only 1 or 2 losses to get better than a 13 seed in the NCAA basketball tournament.

As for your mighty SBC comment. Way to go. Downplay the conference we play in. It makes it easier for you to ____ on our accomplishments when we win the championship which is exactly the point duggie is trying to make.
Your comments are too long. All your what would you rather is pure fantasy. We are not being given a choice of the two. One thing for sure. The way you play is a big indicator of your future. We are playing very poorly so you think this is the route to the NCAA?

Who do I thi we are. We are UL with a great tradition in basketball. Now it is less than average Southland teams. I guess your goal is based on the rotten last decade. Mine goes back to greater times.

I see a bunch of our fans have accepted being low average. They are thrilled we will be one of the play in teams if we luck out and win the tournament.

We are told, correctly, the Belt is a champions only conference. Well that is because we got a lot of bad teams just like us. Do we really need to pay a guy half a million a year while the fans leave the dome empty at ever greater numbers.

I sure wish we could find a way to get there bad as we are.

I'm going to wait until the end of the season before writing this one off. We are in the same spot as football was a 1-3. We ripped off 6 straight and 8 of our last 9 including a 16-3 bowl win against a team that was "going to hang 100 on us."

We lost to two top 25 teams. We lost to a bowl bound LTU R. We lost to the 3rd place team in the conference.

Not the same at all. Not even similar.

I am fine with those who support any UL coach who tries. I got a problem with those who see THIS man as our successful future.

I get it, you grovel at the feet of Bob Marlin. He is not the guy. That was apparent after year three. But we have him time because he had a full roster turnover because he couldn't handle the egos on the team.

The guys struggling big time with a deeper team than we had last season. He just ain't the guy. It is evident to all who can look at the situation with an unbiased view.

So express, I have one question. When basketball ends and you can't complain about marlin anymore, are you going after robe or lotief? I just want to do my homework ahead of time.

Well it's a good thing you aren't AD b/c after year 3, you would've canned him and missed out on 20+ wins and an NCAA bid. One of our best years in a LONG time.

Obviously we aren't going to change each others minds. You absolutely have a good point in that we're average at best against D1A talent in his 4.25 years here. Where we differ is that I think he deserves AT LEAST 1 full season this year to build on last years success. You're 100% right in that we shouldn't lose to McNeese and NW State, but if we can make a good run in conference, neither of us will remember those 2 losses. If we tank in conference, I think then would be the appropriate time to question our head coach.

    Geaux Cajuns!

You protect Bobby Boy with irrelevant comments.

To be sure, just so you see the difference pay attention to who you compare him to. Lotted and Robe both have reached the elite in their sports. Both have WINS in the CWS & WCWS.

So, you want to compare Hud to Marlin? Looks like the Cajuns will be playing Northwestern State in football next year. Anyone on this board worried that the Cajuns might lose that game? Really? No one? Why not? The basketball team lost to them.

I guarantee Hud will be worried about Northwestern. Any team on any given day. They also aren't playing them in Nachitoches.

Home game, and ask LTUR about the ole demons… If you take anyone lightly, you will get beat… Cajuns got beat by thinking we could just show up against Tech… Tech got beat thinking they could just show up against Demons...
