"Made the dance, BUT we had a nba talent." "We made the dance, BUT we play in a weak conference." No, we made the dance. Period.....And we lost to the Bluejays that took 36 minutes for them to pull away.

I'll 100% agree with you that this year is not going as hoped, BUT considering we never had a shot at an at-large bid to the dance before the season even started, our non conference record really doesn't mean shat.
    I agree with you!

63-66......enough said. No excuses, that is plain facts. That is not good enough, I am glad we went to the NCAAs but we are below .500 against D1 programs.

So keep apologizing, you look like a fool.

    You're right, that is ugly.

I'll wait till the end of the year though to judge this team and what the programs future should be.

Last year when we lost to Jackson State at the halfway point, everyone here was jumping off bridges and we end up dancing.

Halfway through this fball year, everyone (mostly you) wanted Broadway off the field and he ended up with Bowl MVP.

Broadway was not healthy! As evident in his play over the last 3 weeks. His poor play early in the season led to 3 straight losses.

He did win MVP with a solid performance. Had he been healthy all season we would not have played in New orleans because we would not have been 8-4.

You can compare my criticism for Broadway all you want, the fact remains that I also stated several times that TB gave us the best chance to win.

I'll remind you once again, 63-66 against D1 competition. This has occurred in an RPI league of 20 +. If you can't win the games you are supposed to, then you are not getting the job done. You're telling me we are suppose to lose to Jax St, McNeese, NwSt or Tecas College?

I didn't think so. Don't worry, we have $1,000,000 left to pay him and at least 3 more years of mediocrity.

I do not think it is an excuse but an obvious conclusion. We pulled off two long shot comebacks in a row to make the NCAA, and we did play well in the NCAA dance. Last year was his best, and even that had warts all over the place.

This is YEAR 5, and some want us to act like this is year ONE. Poor Bobby worst luck of any coach in the NCAA over and over. Cancer players, back stabbing assistants, injuries, yea how about that teams get injuries, chemistry because we have turnover of players every year. Yea most teams have significant turnovers every year.

Duggie no doubt you will be singing Bobby's virtues after this season. Heck we might even be competitive in the mighty SBC.

You said "Gotta rebuild" some call it a reboot, others a restart.

Its not a mulligan, nor did he need one so you are right on that point.

By your description this is the first half of year three.

We are in the sunbelt with a $20m budget and some of us want to act like we are Duke. All kidding aside. I can't defend losing to NwSt or even McNeese. A season is a body of work, though. Not single games here and there. I'd like to know exactly what you are looking for in a Cajuns basketball team. That may make it easier for some of us to put it in perspective. We went 23-12 last year. We won 3 games in the conference tournament to make the dance. We played a respectable game against Creighton. Would you trade an appearance in the NCAA tourney to get back an early season loss to McNeese? Would you trade a conference championship to get back this loss to NwSt? Both of those goals are still ahead of us. We could be 0-11 right now and those goals are still attainable. I want postseason appearances. That may change when conference realignment comes around, but baseball and softball are the only sunbelt teams that will be able to make realistic national championship runs. A sunbelt team will never make the NCAA football playoff. A sunbelt team would have to have only 1 or 2 losses to get better than a 13 seed in the NCAA basketball tournament.

As for your mighty SBC comment. Way to go. Downplay the conference we play in. It makes it easier for you to ____ on our accomplishments when we win the championship which is exactly the point duggie is trying to make.

I have only seen 2 games so I will defer to someone like BOP as far as how our talent level stacks up with others....I will say this.....We may be missing Payton's leadership and mental toughness as much as his ability

Nobody is downplaying crap. The SBC is a 20-25 RPI league. That is terrible. A 63-66 record against D1 is terrible considering we don't line up and play many if any elite programs. That is all programs roughly on our same level or worse.

You can't dress up those results! We have made the NCAA tournament with a Top 10 pick. The CIt or CBI is a pay to play that Marlin wanted which triggered a contract escalator. 63-66 enough said.
