Have a good night, we can debate later. I'm gonna enjoy N.O.!

I'm still not accepting this loss, but it feels better knowing that Texas Southern beat Michigan State in East Lansing. Very weird basketball day. Many upsets.

These are observations, not excuses: Cajuns lose starting point guard, starting shooting guard and starting small forward. Guard positions filled with two returning major contributors and a highly ranked juco. Forward position filled by two new transfers, one a former starter from a power conference post season team, and a highly regarded juco. Reserve players are similar to last season's reserves. It's tough to believe that chemistry is an issue to such a degree that they can look so great in Lafayette and so lackluster on the road.

63-66 against D1 programs is not success.

Wow! Unbelievable! I'll go to games but you ain't gettin em to come watch a team who struggles against Southland teams on a regular basis.

The coach didn't do his post game show, which tells you something about what he thought of the effort.

I think the scheduling is probably economic in nature.

It was hard not to think of the Louisiana Tech win and wonder why we can't get more consistent performances.

The slow starts keep them from developing a fan base.

So far all I have ever seen on this board are excuses for mellow low Bob.

Year one: absolutely awful, start but, but somehow a mighty warrior and a aggressive freshman put him on an 11 game win steak.
Year two: Aggressive freshman becomes a cancer along another group of cancer players, aided with a back stabbing assistant.
Year three: Gotta rebuild after having to run off the little talent he had acquired.
Year four: Pretty good average season, was not getting into NIT, but due to a couple of miracle tournament comeback finishes somehow get into the big dance. Played well in the dance but got beat soundly by the Shockers.
Year five: We need chemistry, we got injuries, we got new players, after all we beat an all everything LTU R. And oh yea we got six wins thee against non scholarship player teams. We also 0-2 to Southland teams.

We might very well compete in the SBC, but really how big a deal is that?

Relax Bob Marlin supporters, not UL coach supporter who support the coach whatever he does legal, he has a contract extension. He will still be stumbling around going into his eight season. Almost a decade to see we got the wrong coach.

Bingo!!!!! 63-66....let that sink in. 63-66 against D1 programs. Sub .500 ball! Yet we got the right guy.

I've got no isse with you thinking that Marlin is not the guy. But, I disagree with your assessment of the end of last year. Once we got Mbamalu back, we were the best team in the conference. We lost by one to Ga State in ATL, then beat them in the tourney. Regardless, this season needs to change in a hurry.

By your count Year 3 became year one, so this is year three.

Nope, Turb, he gets no mulligans. His program started the day he took over, the team did not die in a plane crash like I believe Marshall.

Another fan making excuses for their own teams success. Why any fan of any Cajun program would downplay their favorite schools success just blows my mind. We get it, you don't like Marlin and thats fine. But to try to justify his success just makes no sense to me. Theres always a "BUT" that follows our description of last year. "Made the dance, BUT we had a nba talent." "We made the dance, BUT we play in a weak conference." No, we made the dance. Period.....And we lost to the Bluejays that took 36 minutes for them to pull away.

I'll 100% agree with you that this year is not going as hoped, BUT considering we never had a shot at an at-large bid to the dance before the season even started, our non conference record really doesn't mean shat.
