There is a difference between slim chance and not eligible. They had a great record against a weak schedule. You have to schedule right...you know what won't get you an at large? Losing games you should win. I understand the at large is tough, doesn't justify losing to teams you should beat. We have an sec/nba player and a big 12 player on the court right now.
Your comments are too long. All your what would you rather is pure fantasy. We are not being given a choice of the two. One thing for sure. The way you play is a big indicator of your future. We are playing very poorly so you think this is the route to the NCAA?
Who do I thi we are. We are UL with a great tradition in basketball. Now it is less than average Southland teams. I guess your goal is based on the rotten last decade. Mine goes back to greater times.
I see a bunch of our fans have accepted being low average. They are thrilled we will be one of the play in teams if we luck out and win the tournament.
We are told, correctly, the Belt is a champions only conference. Well that is because we got a lot of bad teams just like us. Do we really need to pay a guy half a million a year while the fans leave the dome empty at ever greater numbers.
I sure wish we could find a way to get there bad as we are.
We lost to two top 25 teams. We lost to a bowl bound LTU R. We lost to the 3rd place team in the conference.
Not the same at all. Not even similar.
I am fine with those who support any UL coach who tries. I got a problem with those who see THIS man as our successful future.
I get it, you grovel at the feet of Bob Marlin. He is not the guy. That was apparent after year three. But we have him time because he had a full roster turnover because he couldn't handle the egos on the team.
The guys struggling big time with a deeper team than we had last season. He just ain't the guy. It is evident to all who can look at the situation with an unbiased view.
So express, I have one question. When basketball ends and you can't complain about marlin anymore, are you going after robe or lotief? I just want to do my homework ahead of time.
Well it's a good thing you aren't AD b/c after year 3, you would've canned him and missed out on 20+ wins and an NCAA bid. One of our best years in a LONG time.
Obviously we aren't going to change each others minds. You absolutely have a good point in that we're average at best against D1A talent in his 4.25 years here. Where we differ is that I think he deserves AT LEAST 1 full season this year to build on last years success. You're 100% right in that we shouldn't lose to McNeese and NW State, but if we can make a good run in conference, neither of us will remember those 2 losses. If we tank in conference, I think then would be the appropriate time to question our head coach.
Geaux Cajuns!
