This is a snippet from another of the articles run by the Nevada Appeal, and I think it provides a little perspective:

"The Ragin' Cajuns' streak of four consecutive appearances in the same bowl is the longest current such streak in the nation. Hawaii went to eight Pineapple Bowls in a row from 1940-41 and 1947-52. The game was not played from 1942 through 1946 because of World War II. BYU went to seven straight Holiday Bowls in San Diego from 1978-84, Texas went to six straight Cotton Bowls in Dallas from 1969-74 and BYU went to five straight Las Vegas Bowls (2005-09)."

He can feel sorry for us all he wants. I'll take 30,000 cajun fans in a great city like NOLA any day over Idaho (yes, he mentions Idaho as a bowl destination) any day as I'm sure most of us would....Unless of course its for a major bowl game!

  7. UL Football Obscure Bowl Game Hall of Fame

The Ragin' Cajuns have made taking over the Superdome a tradition under Mark Hudspeth, winning each of the last four New Orleans Bowls with a 9-4 record after beating Nevada 16-3 last Saturday. Their first appearance, in 2011, was also their first-ever bowl game, and it was a memorable one. Trailing 26-17 in the fourth quarter, San Diego State scored two touchdowns in the final 5:40 (with a UL field goal in between), including the go-ahead score with 35 seconds left. The Ragin' Cajuns quickly drove to the 38-yard line, where they decided to attempt a 55-yard field goal to win. The Aztecs were called for an illegal stemming penalty before the snap, bringing UL five yards closer, leading to Brett Baer's game-winner as time expired.

Neither does that hater wearing the Deuce jersey on the SDSU side looking like someone just shot his dog.

  10. Default R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Recap

And You Care Because … UL got all the points it needed in the first quarter to win the New Orleans Bowl for a fourth consecutive year. The Ragin’ Cajuns opened the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Terrance Broadway to C.J. Bates just four minutes in, and relied on the defense the rest of the way. Nevada pulled within 10-3 on a Brent Zuzo field goal in the second quarter, but never got closer than that. The Wolf Pack was shut out over the final 32 minutes, with all of the second-half scoring coming off the foot of Cajun PK Hunter Stover.

What Else? Broadway completed 26-of-31 passes for 227 yards, no interceptions and the one touchdown to Bates.
