Our O-line was moving them when they had more field to defend. But once in that close they stacked the box. I agree with the others that after the first attempt failed some other play or play action to string it out might have opened a crease. I know its easy to second guess but it was just frustrating to watch that series of calls and come up empty.

Zephyer, I don't have to suggest it... the last drive was white flag material! And it certainly dampened the outstanding effort the staff and players put forth prior to that drive.

I'm not saying Bustle needs to be fired... cause lord knows we have come along way since hes gotton here, but I love coaches that have the attitude of playing too score until the clock runs out.

Look, if you want to question the playcalling, I'm not going to argue although it doesn't bother me as much because they had subs in and were likely trying to get them repetitions in running our usual offense. I have no problems with that. However, to suggest that Bustle and staff were giving up is not logical to me.

I understand what you were saying and I'm not trying to be harsh but I think there is some middle ground here.

I was happy to see Sails and company have some success running right at LSU but when you have a defense that is likely faster than your offense, its hard to try to run outside on them. The offense didn't put any points on the board but they certainly were effective at times moving the ball and I came away with good thoughts on them after the game.

What really upsets me is what could have been if our DB's had held on to sure interceptions they had in their hands after making tremendous jumps on passes for which 2 could have been taken deep into LSU territory if not in the endzone. This would have likely changed the game. The no call on the safety was a joke. Keiland was nowhere close to getting over the goaline and I was proud of the Defense for stepping up and stuffing him. It seems odd to read the boxscore and see that LSU rushed for over 160 yards because it seemed like we stuffed them continuously.

Overall, I'm proud of these guys as they played hard. They just didn't make any plays on both ends of the ball and that is the difference in being able to play with a team like LSU. _
"Plain vanilla" was not a criticism. What I meant was that we did not try "trick plays". We dropped back, protected our QB, and had receivers open all night long (except that last drive where we decided to call it an evening). I loved the route running. We used the pass to set up the run. It will depend on thoughtful playcalling to effectively run this year IMO.

I haven't seen video on the safety call yet. I just took the word of people that had much better views of it than where I was. No one in Tiger Stadium had a worse view of it than me.... unless they were in the bathroom upchucking. I, like you, did not like the attempts to punch it in at the goal line. Against SBC foes... no problem. You cannot get down tight and expect to move LSU's DL and LBs. It's over now, but that was the biggest brain fart this year so far.

Overall, our coaches have these young guys well prepared. I'd like to see this same effort against Nebraska... with an outcome much more to our liking.

It was an enchanted evening with a young UL lady behind me sporting a poster with actual photos of Kanye West (wearing an LSU jersey) and Taylor Swift (in the recent UL jersey). She was yelling anti-LSU stuff all night. Since there were some pretty lame LSU people standing in front of us allowing their young boys to taunt us I didn't even try to quiet her down.

Security was pretty stiff around us. One UL guy got tired of these LSU painted "Jason-like" masked fools (the girl behind me kept yelling at them "Jason" in a way that was not very complimentary) standing in front of him. He complained to security and they told the guys to sit down and not taunt UL (and they did from that point forward). That was pretty decent of the security. You do not have to sit down at an LSU football game.

I was waiting for the play action goal line play, floating one in the back corner of the end zone (Like in the K-State game). But it never came. Regardless, I was proud of our team. I'd have to say that seeing Zanders getting up after a big collision towards the end of the game, and staying in there to see it through, epitomized the heart that our team played with.

Did you notice what lsu done first and goal on our one yard line. First down pass to the tight end. Wide open at that.........no up the middle four times.......They must have respected our defence.

Or figured that we were going to expect the run since they just put Jared "pick six" Lee in for his first snap. It was a gutsy call.
