Your entitled to your opinion dude, but collectively over four seasons there has never been more talent in the program then under Hudspeth. Yes, there have been many talented athletes in the program like Mitchell, Tillman, Taylor, Green, Stokely and others during good years. But there has never been more talent collectively as a group during any stretch of UL football history. Hell, even Baldwin had some talent at times like Fred Stamps and Taylor.
As for Bustle, how was his schedules any tougher then what Hudspeth has played? They are in the same darn conference and don't tell me how good North Texas was when they were winning the conference. Stokes played better schedules at times because the only conference he was in at anytime was the Big West. But there were seasons were he didn't play much better if at all. As I said, the bottom line are results!
It's actually pretty funny when you sit down and listen to stories about recruiting not just about football, but other sports. Coach Robichaux had a few interesting stories about local products and parents getting ____ed because he told them their kid needs to play junior college ball. Heard a few from Coach Lotief as well. As you stated, some parents think because their kid isn't good enough to get any interest from LSU that UL should take them regardless of their level of talent. The same thing went on when Bustle was here, some local parents were ____ed because their son had offers from Central Arkansas and Delta State, but he should have been offered by UL in football. There is no doubt all coaches miss on recruits at times, but I never get upset at a staff if they decide not to offer a kid that has no FBS offers.
To take it a step further, who's developing our QB's? Broadway regressed each year he was here, and IMO, was not used enough as a passer.. Another clue that the scheme is the scheme and that's all there is to it..
Crawfish....that might be the case, but it's projection and something that can't be proven other then the number of bowls.I have no doubt that that stretch was the best in Stoke's tenure and the probably would have won the current Sun Belt. But there are also more football programs playing in the higher division today. Also Stokely had two co-championships in the Big West...He missed bowls both times. In my original statement, I stated the that this has been the best four year stretch in UL football history with four bowl wins. There has never been one bowl win in the modern football era at this program until Hud.
