UL made LSU earn this win

 BATON ROUGE — Riding the high of last week's upset win over Kansas State, UL looked to continue that magic against No. 9 LSU.

Missed opportunities ultimately kept that from happening and doomed the Ragin' Cajuns in a 31-3 loss Saturday night before an overflow crowd of 92,443 at Tiger Stadium.

Afterward, UL head coach Rickey Bustle admitted that the final margin in his team's first loss this season felt much closer than it looked.

"No, not at all," Bustle said. "I feel like (LSU) had to earn everything they got."

That statement rang true as the Cajuns (2-1) held the Tigers (3-0) in check, trailing by a respectable 17-3 margin at the half in a series that is lopsided in LSU's favor.

Well, I think he means that the beyond capacity crowd was not actually at the game, hence the empty seats.
