I know a lot of nervous people working in oilfield that is not spending for non-essentials. If we do not get 40k this year that has to play into it. I'm not going because of medical reasons but probably would not go because of above stated reason. I'm just hoping to stay employed and re-up my season tickets.
Some are spoiled. It's irritating because some of these people complaining that the NOLA is same old, same old are the people calling for heads if we didn't make a bowl. Reference TXST or us a few years ago.
I get the budget, time, etc deals but dont take nola for granted, we might be wishing and hoping for it next year.
It's not an issue of being spoiled. You have to remember that a lot of our fan base is new. They've not sat through the years of awful football. That, coupled with this new societal attention span crisis, of course the numbers will suffer. I don't fall in that group, but I certainly understand and get it. At the end of the day, it's the 4th year of the same. Goes for anything in life, as hawk stated earlier.
Maybe but it certainly is not "the same". If so, we would go to one football game or visit a city once never to return. I get that it does not have the buzz it did even last year and I can't fault anyone for not going, whatever the reason, but, as someone pointed out, I wish they just wouldn't go and not say things like "we are bored, its just NOLA again, bad opponent, etc" That makes us look like a fickle, spoiled fanbase, and maybe we are but there is no need to advertise it!
Would there be any repercussions for us selling 50% of the last couple of years numbers? IF so, what would they be?
