We played at the CajunDome last night against La Tech. We played at Burton Coliseum on Saturday night against McNeese.

Of course I give sports illustrated zero credibility. Predictions are just that, and my prediction is LTUR will not be in the NCAA, and we actually have a better chance.

Try as you might the LTUR fans have come to the reality, their team is OK, hardly comparable to the great teams we played in the Marty era under Eagles, and that is just the way it is.

And before you tell me once again that mid majors have problems, there are several mid majors every year who seem to have zero problems. I know it is tough to catch lightning in a bottle, but you gotta have a bottle to catch the lighting.

Burton is McNeese owned and until this year McNeese operated. Although I think the operators still wear McNeese branding.

Football mid majors and basketball mid majors are not equal. There are a lot of basketball schools that play in basketball leagues that get those at larges. The SBC sucks overall...georgia state won like 25 or 26 games last year and didn't get an at large... Latech won 27 and didn't get an at large... Our conference RPI overall is too weak... Even if you run through it. It would take 30 wins to get a shot IMO. Schools like us have a hard time scheduling... Especially getting anyone worth a damn at home. Win the league, or get a good seed and win the tournament. That's the realistic situation we are in.

I am fully aware of everything you say. You missed some comments by Cajunmike saying it almost impossible for non majors to get an at large. That is just pure wrong.

In any case of course this is why getting out of the SBC is an imperative. As for scheduling quality mid majors that would help our RPI that is a function of funding, and our really UNO like crowds are not helping us there.

People here have drawn me into something I never intended to say. I really did not expect us to be a top 48 RPI teams this or next season, but beating LTUR is not beating a top 48 RPI team, it is beating a team slightly better than we are currently at, and that is a maybe, them being slightly better.

Lastly if we were 18-2 in the SBC and did not get an at large because we lost four other games to people not named Duke, Kentucky, and the like. Instead McBrokeback, Milwaukee, Auburn, and Tulsa should not place us in line for an at large

It is the up and down play that we have gotten from this team so far this season. There is no way we should have lost to McNeese, Tulsa or even Auburn if we play with the type of intensity and consistancy that we showed last night!

That is the biggest issue to me.
And we should have expected that type of inconsistency. We are starting three guys who weren't here last year. Our center missed two games with injury. We needed to find out our point guard situation.

Things are settling in better now. Rotations seem to be more consistent and with that should come more on court consistency.

And, look, Jay Wright's injury isn't an excuse but with him we whip McNeese. Right now he's our most indispensable player.

Fans always expect addition through subtraction, and you don't always see this early in the season.

ps can you pm me your email address? Thanks

It's actually owned and operated by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. It is southwest Louisiana's premier entertainment complex(their words). A mile down the road from my brother's house.

Does it change the fact that we haven't won there since 1999? I don't care who owns it... Mcneese owns our azzes in that building

I agree on Wright. The first game I watched him play I thought he could be a big difference maker for us. Also, Jay, what happened with Vieux the other night? The guy was balling and has been getting a little more time lately. Is he coming along now and likely to keep seeing more minutes?
