Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns started their game week preparations for Louisiana State on Sunday night. The Cajuns worked their standard practices on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday to get ready for their first road game of the season. The team moved Tuesday's practice up 15 minutes again this week in an attempt to finish earlier. The team will practice on Thursday and enjoy a walk-through on Friday. The Cajuns will stay in Lafayette on Friday night and bus to Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon.
Five questions for defensive coordinator Kevin Fouquier...
How has practice gone this week?
Fouquier: "We had three good days of practice. The guys have been moving around great. The momentum we gained coming off a big victory has carried over. The focus in meetings and in practice has been good."
Has anything changed for the Cajuns preparing for their first road game?
Fouquier: "Our schedule is almost exactly the same whether we are at home or on the road. Keeping the same routine helps."
The atmosphere at Tiger Stadium has always been loud?
Fouquier: "We have a lot of experienced players that are used to playing in front of big crowds and loud crowds. The last two games at home have been extremely loud for us."
What are the strengths of Louisiana State?
Fouquier: "They are very athletic, very talented and well coached. Their offensive line is huge. They are a Top 10 football team for a reason."
What is the Cajuns biggest asset right now?
Fouquier: "Our kids are just excited to play football right now. It doesn't matter who, when or where, they just want to play and that attitude is our best asset."
