I'm glad we are stable in baseball. This is a worse pastime than chasing the skirts of high school football players during recruiting season.

Ha! I think it's hilarious how the fringe on here always thinksthat Tech should be frightened over something. First, all we heard for months was how scared we should be about getting our asses kicked in Laffy. Yeah, I was so scared I actually showed up to the game. In fact, I distinctly remember how much y'all trashed Diaz as a "washed up coach" before the season. Then it's "oh you should be shaking in your boots" cause UL to CUSA is immenent..(I for one would welcome Cajuns in) & now its over Diaz's possible departure. I'll let you worry for me ok. The day I stress or lose sleep over college athletics...I call those white people problems. I'm very grateful that we had at least one season with Diaz cause he turned our D around in a dramatic fashion but NO ONE expects him to stick around....there's going to be 2 great openings for a D coordinator with Auburn & Florida. I think you should be more worried about HUD leaving for Houston.

------It is interesting that the coach of the year in CUSA and the State Of Louisiana (and deservingly so) is your skipper--pun intended---Now that could be a happening if he goes to Houston!!!

Too early to tell. I've hearing Houston is likely to make a "splash" hire as the AD is starting to feel some heart. Mike Leach's name has been mentioned. The Cougars will likely go for a coach with an offensive background given they struggled so much in that area this season and need to sell tickets for their $120-million stadium that opened this fall. As others mentioned the offensive coordinator from TCU (Doug Meacham) and Baylor (Philip Montgomery) are possibilities given they're former UH assistants. The issue with them is neither has ever been a head coach. Outgoing UH coach Tony Levine was paid $925,000 this season after signing a five-year extension last spring.

You think it's hard for UL to compete against LSU for income and fan support? Think about smaller Texas schools ha being to compete against UT, Baylor, Texas Tech, TAMU, and TCU. And also Tx State, UTA, UTSA, Rice, UTEP....need I go on? If Hud leaves it won't be to go to a smaller Texas school.
