Numbers say Terrance Broadway had one of his better games today. He hit 14 of 19 through the air for over 140 yards. More importantly, several of his throws were on 3rd down which allowed drives to continue. He even hit one on 4th down to Pettis. Nice to see Larry with a couple of big grabs in his final game. I know the big stat was Cajuns ran for over 300 yards with Broadway himself getting over 75. However, wihout those completions that kept the chains moving, there would not have been an opportunity to gain all those rushing yards. In fact, he hit 9 of 10 in the 2nd half and it would have been 10 of 10 had Butler not dropped one pass. If we can be that efficient throwing the ball in the bowl game, the running game will once again be successful. Huge improvement on 3rd down offense this week compared to a week ago. That was a big contributor to the defense as well as it allowed the Troy offense to stay on the bench. Also, the two critical offsides penalties in the first half did allow Troy drives to continue. Cannot have those type of mistakes as it allows the offense to get a rhythm. Good overall game in 2nd half, it fact best half of year.
On a positive note, we are 8-4 with a poor defensive scheme and our QB hasn't passed for more than 250 yards in a game. I could be wrong about the latter!
With the Kentucky OC taking the Troy HC position...if Kenny Edenfield becomes available does Hud shuffle things around to bring in the OC he really wanted?
