^This. A game should never be on locally unless a sellout.

I guess not only could this be huge for getting our brand out there but also this could allow us to have control over our branding and give us more consistency. This is a step in the right direction hopefully this gets done.

We'd have total control, since we are producing the broadcast.

I agree. I think this is a huge reason why attendance has been lower than some expected. Unfortunately I think this decision is out of our hands.

Additionally, it will be virtually year round exposure due to our strong spring sports. That exposure will help football in the long run. Let's hope we can get some local business to buy advertising in these telecasts. That could really set us up as university funds would the other area mid-majors, regardless of which conference we are in.
i wouldn't expect us to make any real money on this deal. We might even lose money.

The article stated that the conference contract with ESPN allows us to do this but it must also be offered to ESPN at no charge. So you could still watch on ESPN if they decided to pick up the broadcast.

ESPN3 would have to pick up the games online due to the SBC tv contract, but hopefully would black them out online locally, just in Acadiana though.

I hope this gets done. Definitely should be blacked out in Acadiana only until sellout is reached.

Is CST available on: 1) Directv or 2) Watch ESPN ?

Raoul, you do know Watch ESPN is for access to ESPN programming? That should answer that question.

Unless your question is will the game broadcast also be on Watch ESPN ... that language is written into the agreement, including available at no cost to ESPN.
