I'm really surprised about the freshman SS being invited to the junior team. I hadn't really heard much about her in any articles. I know she's played quite a bit in the fall with mixed success which is usually the case with freshmen, but I'm hoping she can become another All American shortstop from Mississippi.

D. J. made the Jr. Team. What!!!! She is going to be outstanding for us and for the USA team. As the fall progressed she was really improving and making strides. She may end up being better than Nerissa. Now that is saying a lot!!!!! About being invited ? She had an outstanding high school career in both fast pitch and slow pitch. Several of the girls invited are still in high school. D. J. did play travel ball. I'd like to know how "they" find out about these athletes? Do the coaches send in a video? That may have been her high school or travel ball coach or maybe even Lotief. Don't know, but I do know she is good now as evidenced by being selected to the Jr. USA team. She will only get better. She is a smart kid to boot.
