Thread: Nowhere left to go

  1. Default Nowhere left to go

UL — On a blustery day in Cajun Field, Appalachian State dared the Ragin’ Cajuns to beat them through the air by clogging the line of scrimmage with defenders. By doing so, the Mountaineers also took away the most dangerous aspect of the Cajuns off...

Perhaps a CHECK UP is in order.

Put your best receiver as the 3rd option.

McQuire only needed 88 yards the last 2 games to break 1,000 and he is still short. Teams figured out all they have to do to beat us is stack to middle to stop our running game and blitz the QB to kill any semblance of a passing game.

We were a 3 trick pony. In most circles, that is hard to beat.

Robinson got hurt. Now a 2 trick pony.

Against App, we didn't run TB. Now a 1 trick pony.

Against App, they stuffed McGuire. Now a zero trick pony.

If we don't get those 2 turnovers, we lose by 30.

Watching that game was like nails on a chalkboard. Maybe the worst gameplan I've seen under Hud.

Maybe we can switch the numbers between each play that way we don't target 1 WR all game

This was the toughest game that I've watched in many, many years. I'm dumbfounded at what the coaches called a "game plan." I accurately predicted play after play after play.

-We forgot about the zone read which makes TB now look like a Linebacker playing hot potato
-Our route running is atrocious. 3rd and 11 and we have two guys running 3 and outs.
-On the 3 and out route, TB throws the ball 16 feet over the head of the runner into the cheerleaders.
-We could not open holes against a team half the size with no where near the depth that we have.
-The game was a "LOOK AT ME" game. Senior night/day games make us look stupid.

You learn from your mistakes. If we don't come out against Troy and establish the zone read, we've failed our players again. TB's strength is prominent against a confused defense. If the defense is constantly questioning who's going to run we've beat'em. When that happens, TB is very efficient in the passing game because that 1st option is usually open and he does not have to dance and try to find a second or third option (which is IMPOSSIBLE for him to do).

I have a feeling that the coaches will adjust and you'll see the old TB from 2+ years ago. He has to be the running threat first. We have nothing else to lose. He has two games left...run his legs off.

I am pretty sure every school in America has a senior night/day. These guys have been busting their asses for 4+ years for our enjoyment, they deserve at least that recognition. Stop it with that non sense.

I know that every team in America has one from High School on up. It is what it is. An EFFIN distraction. Can we stop it, no? But to call it nonsense is ridiculous. This is and always be a distraction, we need to do a better job of focusing on this game next year and years to come. You can't tell me for one second that this game played completely different than most games. We had an abundant amount of seniors graduating and getting recognition for it. Not to mention the players on the cusp of breaking records. It was a "look at me" game whether you want to discuss it or not. We didn't play football---AT ALL

I agree but it plays against Huds strength as a pregame motivator.

In other systems having the core of your team off doing their own thing pregame wouldn't matter near as much.

If only we could get fans to stay post game.

Luke, you nailed it. Ok, Coach Hud says he knows it, well, do something about it. You are the only one who can.

I'll discuss it all day with you. So you think that if we wouldn't have had the seniors recognized Saturday we would have won that game??

And what do you suppose the players do about the records? or do you just not want the local media to cover that because it may be a "distraction?"
