Thread: New Orleans hungry for return of Ragin' Cajuns

  1. Default New Orleans hungry for return of Ragin' Cajuns

The Cajuns, currently bowl-eligible at 7-3 heading into their final game of the season Saturday against Appalachian State, are craved indeed by the New Orleans Bowl, which is contractually tied to the Sun Belt._

The fact is this bowl makes a LOT of money with UL attending which is outstanding publicity for them. Plus UL gets to flex it's muscles as an up & coming player in the new world order of college sports by having a chance to set yet even another New Orleans Bowl attendance record. This combined with all new football, & wieght facilities, new baseball digs, & a continuing ramping up of the RCAF, corporate sponsorships, & season ticket holder increases make UL a MAJOR player in the next round of conference affiliation musical chairs.

I bet the rest of the SBC loves that they will never get an invite to this game as long as UL is eligible. Realignment might be about budgets and markets, but post-season is about tickets and hotels. We earn this by showing up every year. Pretty awesome.

You are correct. I was going off of the snippet in the post that just says final game.

----Man would I love to recruit with our going to the NO Bowl again---Can you imagine a recruit that comes to the game from Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and sees this compared to the other schools offering----other than the SEC no other school in the areas can compare to it!!!
Then you tell them about all the Bowls that have offered and just say that the fans love to do this gig and it obviously shows!!! What a great time to be a Cajun fan!!!

NewsCopy clips only edit headlines and Lafayette dribble, meaning the online article was edited. That's fine as long as it got caught before it hit hard copy.
