None of those bands are from those decades. They were big in the 80's.

    Jungle Boogie
    Ladies Night
    Too Hot
    Celebration
    Get Down On It
    Joanna
    Cherish

Those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head

Kool and the Gang were really popular in the 70's and just carried it through to the 80's... during the 70's they played the typical "funk" with a bunch of horns (see Jungle Boogie and Ladies Night), and in the 80's they adopted a more "pop" sound with synthesizers and slowed things down a bit with songs like Joanna and Cherish.

I just remember my high school graduation song in 83 being "celebration". I use to like Cheap Trick when I was kid. "Surrender" and "Dream Police" are the only two I remember. I'm thinking about going since it's inside. What the age range? I don't care to be around an army college kids.

My 1950's comment was a joke. The decrepit Beach Boys concert two years ago was pretty bad.

Cheap Trick formed in 1973, active since 1974. There biggest hits were "I Want You to Want Me" (1977; live 1979 version was more popular), Dream Police (1979). You can count the 80's if you like that God awful song "The Flame" (1988).

Kool & the Gang formed in 1964. Most of their hits were in the 70' & early 80's: Jungle Boogie (1973), Hollywood Swinging (1974), Ladies Night (1979), Too Hot (1979), Celebration (1980), Get Down on It (1981). Later they released Joanna (1983), Fresh (1984) and Cherish (1985), but those songs don't have the party feeling as Jungle Boogie, Ladies Night, Celebration, etc.

Anyone know the security arrangements / restrictions at this facility? Since rain is expected I'm sure many people will have umbrellas. Will they be allowed in the facility? Also women will have purses, sure some will be big. Will they have size restrictions like the Superdome? I'm just envisioning a big clusterf¥ck with people lined up in the rain trying to get in with security telling them they have to leave their umbrellas or telling women their purse is too big to bring in.

Called the Smoothie King Center... umbrellas will be allowed, but no purses larger than 12x12x6
