It isn't great Kyle, but it's not f'n Baghdad man. There is a downtown area with several bars, many stay open as long as you keep partying. There are worse destinations. How many people have been shot in the quarter in the last 3 months? How many people have been shot in downtown mobile? Anywhere can be dangerous if you aren't aware of what's around you.

I don't know how many got shot in the back side of the quarter this year. But it's not any different than that part of Mobile. BTW, since when is this dump within 5 miles of downtown Mobile? Get a map before you argue brother. It's not even remotely close to a single hotel, or restaurant. Not one. As in not any at all. Not within walking distance. Probably not within bicycle distance. It's not Iraq. It's more like desire, or St. Thomas, or one of the housing projects in New Orleans. Because that's where the stadium is. And if you don't show up at least two hours early, you're parking 2 miles or more down the road.

Wrong dipstick. The reason I got the Saints tickets was I found out the game was the same weekend as the New Orleans Bowl. And I knew the leaders of the school would have lost their senses not to want to go to the New Orleans Bowl again this year. So yes that does make me smarter than you. It does mean I'll make a full weekend out of it. But I have a camp an hour away where I'll be staying so I won't take a hotel room from some snivelling whiner.

I've been there, to watch the Cajuns... Have you? It's 4 hours out if the entire weekend you are there, if you can't splurge $5 to get dropped off in the gate...so da widdle baby will feel safe then stay home, you can't afford a bowl game. Downtown mobile is safer than the quarter.

At least one option isn't Chicago. There have been more murders in Chicago in the last three years than deaths in real combat zones. Over 1200 in a three years time span. So I would say that Mobile or Nola is about the same.

Saw Cheap Trick at the Saenger about 20 years ago - after the concert we went to Pat O's / me and a buddy got a corner table all the way in the back - who walks up you ask ? Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen asking us if they can sit with us to hide out and chill - sat with them for an hour talking bout touring, guitars, etc... Needless to say it was an awesome night !!
