UL — Hunter Stover likes to tackle people. He likes racing down the field after the ball is sent end-over-end on the kickoff and putting a lick on the guy dumb enough to try to run it back. Does it matter that he’s the guy kicking the ball off? O...

---I guess one of the interesting things about the game is the Changes that have occurred over the years----I remember when you kicked off that you never followed the ball's path as you were justifiably concerned with not getting your chin bashed in by there lead middle man---Then the Wussies came along and just kicked and stayed back for a possible saving tackle----As I have told him, it is great to see the hit back in the kick!!!
Most college kickers are not Stover and they play the "safety" part because they are not nearly as athletic and strong as the other 21 guys on the field. Back when you played the kickers were also the running back and linebackers and more on a the same playing field. It's not like that anymore. Most kickers would get severly injured and then you don't have a kicker. It's not a wussie thing but just a much much different game now.
