Since we now share bowl revenue with our conference mates, do we share the losses as well?

An opportunity to play in a more prestigious bowl is something you should think about long and hard. We didn't make money off the NO Bowl, they just covered our expenses and pocketed the increase in revenue from the larger tickets sales. So I don't see us losing that kind of money unless you were planning to fly the team cross country or to Hawaii. If the bowl is in driving distance, we will do just fine. But as I stated, I still expect UL to accept the bowl bid if it is offered this weekend and be announced Dec. 7th.

I thought all the bowl involved with the Sun Belt require you to sell your ticket allotment plus in order the get the money listed for the bowl. I don't think we sell 20,000+ tickets through our ticket off ice for Mobile or Montgomery. JMO. Maybe we need to negotiate for at least 25,000 tickets with the NO Bowl where we get a percentage through our ticket office to go there.

Before BCS money put certain bowls over the top, bowl payouts were based on 17,000 allotments.

The price of the ticket being the payout differentiator in advertised payouts.

Well, I hate to disagree, but....

It will be a huge upset if either Fresno or Wyoming gets to 6-6. And, Boise State might be in the Access Bowl. If that happens, the NO bowl will be open.

And, honestly, I believe that's a more likely scenario than what Tim is stating here.
