Do you have any bowls in mind that would be interested in us at 9-3? I'm asking for ones that we know that their contractual obligations will not be met.
I think the fact that we will have a month to promote and sell tickets is more of a driving force than the notion of being left out. We will go somewhere. My thought has always been that if we aren't playing in a "New Years Day bowl" (in quotes because I'm talking about the traditional bigger bowls), NO Bowl is the best landing spot for us.
Edit: If the chances are 80%+ that we are playing in the Nola bowl, I would say make the announcement and start selling tickets. JMO.
The Cajuns hit the 9-3 win plateau we will not be left out of a bowl. I know some people love to say that because it shuts discussion down about any other bowl possibility. In most seasons, I would say yes we would be left out. This year has been really crazy and there is one or two possibilities, but both would not be done deals until it was certain several conferences couldn't fill their slots. That will not be clear until the end of the season.
----A caller on Young Billy's show mentioned some views on which bowl to take----The longer the time period to the game the more practice sessions that we get---kind of an extra Spring training----The longer the time frame the more money is drained from the profit that we gross (remember Monroe's woes last year)---There are negotiations behind the scene that we aren't aware of between UL and all the possible bowls---I would think the biggest point would be money given based upon ticket sales and what constitutes expenses (Are Bowl rings expenses for example)----The cost of travel as to whether a plane trip is needed!!! You can bet that T-Joe and S Farmer are taking all the angles into consideration----Like nearly all on here, to quote Dr John---Going Back, Going Back, to New Orleeeeeans!!!
"...You can bet that T-Joe and S Farmer are taking all the angles into consideration..."
Sorry, Boomer, but considering how they screwed up conference opportunities, the name issue and hyphengate , the RCAF split and the Executive Director / Fundraiser as well as numerous other marketing issues I don't have any confidence that T-Joe and Farmer are being proactive and considering all angles.
I know this isn't what's in question here, but unless I'm really bad at math all of a sudden, how is it that the Cajuns have only won 5 in a row? Didn't we start out 1-3?
