Come on Jay, give us your prognostication for the matchup!

You would think a P5 school would welcome a trip to NOLA.

I still think it'll be Rice (CUSA) or Memphis (AAC). Both make the game extremely competitive and marketable. Don't think it'll be a MWC team.

Yeah, I think some of them would. It would have to be a school that would not think the game was beneath them with a fanbase who knows how fun NOLA could be.

If the Cajuns have absolutely zero shot at any other bowl, which I'm not buying it yet unless of course you mean because our administration will not delay any decision for one week. But there is no need to have that discussion until if or when the Cajuns finish the season 9-3.

Giving what we know now, the best matchup for the Cajuns would be N. Illinois in the Go-Daddy Bowl. That matches UL up against the MAC Champion (if that is the case) and a team that has been ranked in recent seasons and played in a BCS Bowl. But most Cajun fans don't want to travel to Mobile that late in the bowl season.

I don't see the NO Bowl and Go Daddy working together to flip a MAC team for a MWC team. And the NO Bowl has no interest in allowing 7-5 SBC bowl teams like Texas State or Arkansas State play in the Dome over the Ragin' Cajuns.

I just love the fact this program has come so far over the past four years that it's not a question of if the Cajuns get into a bowl, but where and against who. What a great feeling!

You have to remember the P5 will have a bunch of bowl teams this year...hell the entire SEC West could be bowl eligible if Arkansas wins one more game. If we get NOLA early...we should definitely take it. Even with added bowls...G5 teams will be left out in the cold.

Look, I fully expect that to happen tomorrow night should the Cajuns win with NO Bowl Reps at the game. In fact, there could be a announcement Monday from what we've been told. But, should the Cajuns go 9-3 there is an outside shot at another bowl, providing UL would be willing to play its hand with the NO Bowl. But that would require UL to delay any decision on the NO Bowl and that is not going to happen.

I agree, the Nola bowl will force our hand, which is wise on their part. I don't think our administration will call their bluff...which is probably wise on our part.

I think if we we sitting on 2 or 1 loss right now, it would make sense to try and wait. At best, we will be 9-3 with no wins other than FCS and Sunbelt opponents. I don't think we are in the running for a bowl that would be better suited than Nola. JMO

Right now we are not unless we reach the 9-3 plateau. So the discussion is mute, but what hand does the NO Bowl have to play should the Cajuns win out? 7-5 Astate, Texas State or USA teams? None of them would or could bring the numbers that UL has to the NO Bowl. And should that be the case, the Go Daddy Bowl would jump all over UL in a second. But like I stated, that is not going to happen because we win Saturday and I expect an announcement to be made Monday.
