Thread: Bayou Boys Top Swampers 8-1 To Win Fall World Series

  1. Ragin' Cajuns Bayou Boys Top Swampers 8-1 To Win Fall World Series

Despite dropping the first game of the series, the Bayou Boys battled back to pick up an 8-1 victory over the Swampers in the rubber match on Thursday night at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field to claim the 2014 edition of the Ragin' Cajuns Fall World Series.

There are 43 players on the team right now, they will have to cut down to 35 before the start of the season. A couple of the players will have to have Tommy John surgery and will be out next year. Coach is hoping those players can redshirt and not count towards the 35 man roster. That makes sense so the NCAA will probably rule against us.

Overall a couple of good nights out at the Tigue.

I am interested to see how well we pitch this spring. It will fore tell our future. I am very worried about it. I think that we will be a very good hitting team and that may need to carry us. I do trust Rob. I would be highly surprised if one or both of the top two pitchers we just signed, show up on campus.

+100 Everyone can hit-- games will be won or lost on the bump.

I am sure that Rob will have it squared away. But I think that they will be so young this year and that is so unpredictable. Melrock, you seem to have some inside knowledge. Who are the top 6 contenders for starters?

Has anyone that's attended these games noticed a difference in the hitting technique or approach at the plate from the Cajuns?

I understand why some of you are concerned about pitching but as someone stated Rob will surely have his pitching staff ready to geaux! He has done it for many many years now.

I am more concerned about the Cajuns having to replace arguably the best hitting coach in the country. From the comments it sounds like the team is still hitting well so that is encouraging!

The guy who replaced Deggs, talbot, was his hitting coach at texas A&M, you can't get any closer to the same philosophy. We will be fine at the plate.

Deggs developed and instilled the mental strength and killer instinct. That is what I am hoping that Bab and Talbot can replicate.
