So I guess we dropped Louisiana from our basketball uniforms? That sucks.

Beating the name drum constantly ranks right along side claiming refs have it out for a given team. If you're passionate about either, become an advocate for the name fight somewhere the battle needs to be fought, we're all aware here. And if you don't like the refs, go out and become one so you can show them how it's done. Plenty of folks here on this site can hook you up with an LHSAA official. Plenty of teams would love expert officials...ask most losing teams' fan base in amateur sports, it's always the ref's fault. They're waiting....

Don't all but ONE football jersey have Louisiana on them? Don't all but ONE basketball jersey have Lousiana on them? Don't MOST baseball and softball jerseys have Louisiana on them? Don't our cross country/track and field singlets have Louisiana on them? Don't the volleyball jerseys have Louisiana on them?
Jeeeez
Despite the name issue being more important than athletics to some, I don' t believe the discussions on this board do much to advance the cause. I think that is why some get frustrated at what they consider an overemphasis on it. For example this thread started on the Tulsa game last night. Name on the uniform would not have helped the players handle the ball better. Only way to advance the name cause is for the administration to be more aggressive in seizing it. They appear to have retreated on that front and if they have it is likely for political reasons.
Of course the discussions don't help our defensive secondary tackle better or our point guards to have less turnovers. I do think that it is better that we defeated ULM this Saturday as UL Lafayette than it would have been to lose to them as Louisiana. Folks who have the name as a focus may not agree with me. If you do not, it is understandable as everyone has different priorities. I would like you to answer the question as whether you prefer a win as UL Lafayette vs a loss as Louisiana. To me, winner is always the most important name you can achieve.
Mike, you always speak with the calm of someone is the nasa control room, well done sir
