Despite the name issue being more important than athletics to some, I don' t believe the discussions on this board do much to advance the cause. I think that is why some get frustrated at what they consider an overemphasis on it. For example this thread started on the Tulsa game last night. Name on the uniform would not have helped the players handle the ball better. Only way to advance the name cause is for the administration to be more aggressive in seizing it. They appear to have retreated on that front and if they have it is likely for political reasons.
Of course the discussions don't help our defensive secondary tackle better or our point guards to have less turnovers. I do think that it is better that we defeated ULM this Saturday as UL Lafayette than it would have been to lose to them as Louisiana. Folks who have the name as a focus may not agree with me. If you do not, it is understandable as everyone has different priorities. I would like you to answer the question as whether you prefer a win as UL Lafayette vs a loss as Louisiana. To me, winner is always the most important name you can achieve.
