Thread: The Story of the WildCatters Football Team in Lafayette Louisiana

    LAKE CHARLES, LA (March 4, 2010) - Earlier this week, the Southern Indoor Football League learned the ownership group of the Augusta Mavericks franchise signed a deal to join the newly formed Regional Indoor Football League (RIFL) in hopes of competing in 2010.


  2. Default Wildcatters Press Conference


    The Lafayette Wildcatters of the Southern Indoor Football League will be holding a press conference on tomorrow March 5th at 3:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More High School practice field.

    Located at 450 E. Farrell Road in Lafayette, STM High School will be the sight of the Wildcatters first press conference of the 2010 season. Expected to be in attendance from the Wildcatters are Head Coach John Fourcade, Assistant Coach Ron Estay along with club President Ray Ronquillo.

    The three will be addressing the media, as Friday will mark the start of training camp along with the Wildcatters plans for the upcoming season. In anticipation of the 2010 season, training camp reports and updates will be available via www.lafayettewildcatters.com over the course of training camp.

    Expected to last 14 days, Lafayette currently has 32 players reporting to camp on Friday. That number must be cut down to 23 by opening night in which the Wildcatters travel to tackle the Greenville Force on Sunday March 21st.

    The Wildcatters season opener is Saturday May 1st at 7:05 p.m. against the defending SIFL Champion Louisiana Swashbucklers. Season tickets are still available, contact the Wildcatters front office at 337-704-2897.

  3. Default Wildcatters Begin Training Camp


      The Lafayette Wildcatters, members of the Southern Indoor Football League, started its 2010 season on Friday as the team's 32-man roster reported to training camp.

    Training camp reports, updates and rosters will be available at www.LafayetteWildcatters.com over the course of the 14-day camp. The Wildcatters have 32 players reporting to camp on Friday, but the roster must be cut to 23 before the Wildcatters open up the 2010 season on the road against the Greenville Force on March 21.

    The Wildcatters open up at home against its rival, the Louisiana Swashbucklers, on Saturday, May 1 at 7:05 p.m. Season tickets are still available by calling the Wildcatters office at (337) 704-2897.

    The Lafayette Wildcatters are proud to announce that the team has made an agreement with the Cajundome to play football in its arena for the 2010 season.

    "We are very excited to bring the city of Lafayette an arena football team that can play at such a high-technology, high-performance arena," said President Ray Ronquillo. "The technology that the Cajundome offers, such as the LCD lighting, the big screen replay, the capability of having piro fire and the laser lights, is going to make the games an exciting experience.

    "Ultimately, it gives us a upside capability of entertaining close to 11,000 people."
