Other than Nola Bowl our best option is Indy Bowl.

I would still like the Texas Bowl...but I doubt that comes open. NOLA is gonna be ruined this year with the Saints being greedy buttholes and not being flexible with their schedule. Go Falcons.

Saints have zero to do with that schedule, espn keeps adding bowls on that day and they all rotate time slots.

If Ul continues to win out & wins all are part of a conference championship, why would the New Orleans bowl not pick us? Are they tired of setting attendance records, or something like that? I mean 58,000 people & solid top ten for a non BCS bowl game seems pretty good to me. How many people have been to the slums of Mobile at midnight to attend a bowl game in the howling January winds? Or the freezing rain? Or both simultaneously? Then had to walk a mile through the roughest neighborhoods in Mobile without lights & cops on every street corner just to get back to your car? Let someone else have the glory of the Go Daddy Bowl. Besides, I'd rather watch the commercials for that game, than the game itself.

    Nola Bowl - $500,000
    GoDaddy - $750,000
    Indy Bowl - $1,150,000

With no more BCS. The Group of 5 (Big East, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt ) are slated to split somewhere around $95 million. Depending on how the Sun Belt wants to split the revenue it is VERY possible that bringing a lesser crowd to Mobile or Shreveport could be more financially sound. We should infer that expenses for the team would be roughly the same amount. I don't see us flying to Mobile or Shreveport and the hotel accommodations should be roughly the same.

    New Orleans Bowl #1

Everything else is a distant #2.

I'm planning a New Orleans Bowl, Pelican game, Saints game weekend.

None of those are guarantee returns, you have to sell the tickets and if anyone thinks we sell as many tickets Mobile than NOLA, well keep waiting on the Easter Bunny and for ULM to lose so that it hurts us in football.

all we have to sell is our allotment. selling over that, depending on what percentage we get, could be a none issue.

i think we'll sell any allotment for Mobile or Shreveport and if we do that, then yes that money is guaranteed.

We're not starting up the "splitting revenue" again are we?

You sell tickets, you get to keep a percentage ... that is the "revenue".

Not for Shreveport, those numbers are for the conference tie ins...which the sunbelt is not. For example, hypothetically if Michigan were to go to the New Orleans bowl, it won't be for $500k that I can promise. They would get more $ than we would just because of the name and viewers they bring to the table.

Exactly, under the new revenue sharing rules, as long as we break even that's about all that matters, go play the biggest name we can first, if they are all about equal take Nola every time.
