Sounds to me like you are awfully close to some officials if you aren't one yourself. I understand blaming refs is typically done as a scapegoat when things don't go your way. Let me begin by saying I love this University and want them to win, succeed, grow and accomplish whatever they can at the best of their abilities. I also really don't care about basketball. If we lost every game this season, I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep. I too don't like when people blame the refs for a loss. It sounds like a sore sport making excuses. I'll say this though… The refs last night blew. Would we have won with better refs? Maybe, maybe not… We played awfully bad regardless of the officials. They certainly had their hand in the outcome of the game though, and in my opinion, the best officiated games are the ones that you never hear a peep about the refs. If many, many people are saying the same thing, maybe there's some truth to it (the fact that these refs were horrible)

No, not a ref/ump/official. Years back, I knew dozens statewide, now I only see a few a year in different sports. They all wished one thing. Every "expert" that had the advantage of replays, different angle shots, and roses colored glasses would walk a mile in their shoes. I'm not saying things are not missed, and any ref away from a game will tell you so. Look at shoves between opponents, who gets caught, the 2nd guy almost every time. I am saying unless a ref is bought and paid for by someone for gambling purposes, I have never met a ref with an agenda to screw a team.

Look no further than h/s football this past fall. They were begging folks to step up and officiate. Why? It starts at youth sports. Seen dozens of kids try it only to quit due to jackasp adults yelling and cursing children. So then when they grow up, they don't want to relive that experience. Therefore, I do have experience in having expert parents removed from sporting events. And the quality of the refs today is directly related to the above.

A passionate man (fan) rides a blind horse. I've been there too, so I'm not casting stones at you or anyone. I understand your point, just see it different now that I'm older.

I completely understand where you are coming from. The only real problem I have with the officiating was the 2nd halftime (as RC10 named it). The fouls and free throws aren't even the problem. It took 5 minutes to sort everything out. 7 minutes before actual play started back up. That is an eternity especially when one team is on a 12-2 run. One job of an official is to control the flow of a game. They failed in this aspect and it had nothing to do with them making bad calls on fouls, traveling, etc. From all camera angles in didn't look like anything crazy happened. Not saying it didn't, but it should have a been a very quick T on you, T on you. Let's play.
