1.5 mil and no travel costs.

Just a guess and agreeing, don't start a rumor

You have to take out the number of students that were there at $22.00 a head then add back in the student fee (what ever that is) and figure that on a per game basis. Scott Farmer was saying it does cost a pretty good amount of money to put on a game. They were planning on having 500 people employed to manage a game with that many people. Either way I'm thinking they made some good money this weekend.

Plus we paid SU a little over $100,000 to play.

Back out 6,000 tickets sent to SU. They kept that money.

We had 1 extra ticket in our group for the game that was a general admin ticket. My brother in law held it up and 2 (YES ONLY TWO) seconds later had a $20 bill in his hand for it! Maybe we should have bought more...

    FYI:

Contributing to that ambience was a huge contingent from Southern, which despite losing 42-19 walked away with a payday somewhere near $250,000.

SU earned a $110,000 guarantee plus keeps all the revenue from 6,000 tickets sent to the school for pregame sales. Each ticket had a face value of $24.

I venture to say it was a tad bit more than that because UL sent GA tickets to sell because the others sold out within a couple of days.

Forget the precision of the exact amount it is probably safe to say the University netted between $600-750k... NETTED.... Now compare that to a 20,000 crowd at $22 euqals $440k minus expenses and students maybe we net $250-300k... So on the low end the incremental take was $300k...

My point in this mental math exercise? To those who say we cant afford a new coach, I say we cant afford to NOT have a new regime in here... I dont want to go down that route today... All is good and I hope all remains so and RB gets a life time contract for winning the Belt and a Bowl game...

But readers on here know I have long been a proponent of a new regime and these numbers bear me out... Again taking the absolute LOW side of the incremental take of $300k times 5 games means $1.5 million INCREMENTAL to the University... WINNING is what this should be about... so if it comes down to that argument again, lets not use the "We cant afford to make a change"... Folks IF it comes down to it we cannot afford to NOT MAKE A CHANGE...

Here's to this being simply an academic exercise and the discussion never seeing the light of day again... Beat KS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KATC reported last night that concessions hit an all time record of $105,000.

I think you can probably estimate less on souvenier purchases. Probably in the range of $50K would be my estimate.
