Track & Field My Official Apology to the Recruits and guests that sat in Sec C row 1-3...

I am truly sorry that some of you were told to sit on row 1-3 of Section C by the Pepper Girl and then were forced to move by the police when ticket holders showed up later in the game, with nobody around to assist you. You were our guests, and I am ashamed that you were inconvenienced in this manner. I am sure it was an honest mistake on her part, avoidable, but honest; and partially due to the record crowd on hand..

I tried to explain to the officer that I witnessed an official University Representative tell you to sit there, and suggested that he find someone to assist you in finding other seats. He did make an effort to do so, unfortunately to no avail.

I have been in your shoes as a guest of Universities and can only imagine the frustration and embarrassment of being confronted by a police officer that removes you from seats mid game, that you were directed to sit in.

I assure you that I will be bringing this matter to the Athletic Dept's attention on Tuesday morning, as I consider it to be completely unacceptable. I hope you all found great seats to finish watching this historic game in...and am happy that you chose to come visit UL...

Why not put them in the pressbox or have a designated area. If I was a recruit I would be upset.

    Unfortunately it did...

On a very positive note, the rennovations behind the training center next to the tunnel entrance are nice. The fence is really cool and the covered seating area appears to be a well thought out and useful addition.

I guess I was sleeping through class again, but it certainly was a pleasant surprise to see it in place.

I tried to personally apologized to several of them as they went up to try to find other seats, most of them seemed to understand that it was the result of an honest mistake. There were so many recruits, that as they filed into the area prescribed for them, the line stopped moving because the section appeared to be full. Some of them saw the section of seats to their right was open and asked the Pepper Girl if those seats were where they should sit; she said yes. Unfortunately, it looked like some General Admission fans may have taken some of the recruits guest seats prior to their arrival; and the overflow to this other area resulted. To make matters potentially worse, the last recruits to be seated were the ones CajunT was interviewing before they left the field, but their guests may have walked up and gotten them seats situated while they were interviewed (I hope).

What's troubling to me is the fact that the hosts seem to depart the area after the guests are seated, so when the problem arose, there was nobody present to help. I tried to ask several official looking people to help on their way by me, but nobody seemed to know who or how to get in touch with a person that could help.

Please forward this to Scott Farmer and Troy Wingerter in the form of an e-mail. They need to be aware of this so they can avoid a repeat.

There should be a host/hostess with them at all times, that is from the time they set foot at the athletic facility to the time they leave to assist them with ANYTHING they may need. If somebody was there with authority AND a radio this could have been avoided. Someone with authority could have brought them to the press box.

Not to make any excuses but it use to be that most of the seats over there are family of players and no one really cares about sitting exactly where your ticket indicates. Lately it hasn't been like that so perhaps the young lady that told the folks to sit there had the same idea.

Player: "Mom this won't be a problem for me, I'll be on the field. Can you handle it?"

Mom: "No son I'd rather you go to a school with an empty stadium so I can sit where I want."
