UL — As auditions go, things couldn’t have been much smoother for Chris Masson and Undrea Sails.

Masson, who started his first game since he was a high school senior in 2006, threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns to lead the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to a season-opening 42-19 win over Southern before a record crowd of 41,357.
