_ I'm sorry that happened, I did really enjoy southern's band, but the thing that gave me a chill, was seeing the interlocking UL formation pre-game with the fight song being played. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed that. BTW, I liked their performance, but did not like them outside of that, I found it kind of classless that they would start playing while yall were playing just to be *.

I SECOND THAT!!!!! I was on the field for the pregame show and seeing the whole sea of red stand and clap to the fight song gave me CHILLS!

I did see the band rehearsing on the field like at 11 in the morning when I was setting up the program stands in the stadium. Does teh band do that before every home game?

Yes we do. We usually go from 9 till around 12.

I am proud that we started playing the Alma Mater during pregame. I know it probably sounded pretty bad yesterday, but that's because we hadn't had much time to memorize it. Hopefully that'll get better as we go on through the season. I did enjoy pregame, until SU's band had to be classy and play during out set. I understand that they're team was coming on the field, but they could have waited until we were done, as we would have done if the situation was reversed.

You can respect something and still think it needs to be better. I respect UL basketball but guess what it sucks right now. You might be fatigued but that doesn't explain why the performances for the most part is very boring. Its not about having a band that does what Southern does, it is about being great at what you do. Does Troy sound good at their home games? Because I am sure they are practicing just as much as you but they are enjoyable to listen to.

No one on here is blaming the members of the band, it is the director in charge of the band that needs to fix things.

Also, we try to get the crowed going with chants and stuff, but nobody picks up on it. We do things like spell out O-R-G-Y, what's that spell?? TEAMWORK! We also have E-X-L-A-X spells GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!! and C-O-N-D-O-M spells DEFENSE!!!

Aside from those funny ones, we do try and get people going by starting chants like UL! UL! (Like we do in the tunnel if you're ever around for that.) DE-FENSE!! or DE-FENSE CAJUNS DE-FENSE!! Y'know, stuff like that, but nobody other than the band ever joins in.

You're right, but I think you can understand how we feel when it seems we never get any love, other than at Showcase. When it seems nobody else cares, we stop caring. We don't preform to our potential etc.

I will tell you that I sit in the chairbacks on the lower deck and I never hear any of this. What many here are saying is that we don't hear the band during the game. What Clutch is saying is that we know you guys are precise and good at what you do but we do not get the energy from the band that helps to fire up the crowd. I do not know who to blame nor am I here to blame anybody but it is fact. I don't know if it is just a matter of having a small band and needing more members which I'm sure would help. I don't necessarily have the answers but I can only tell you what we here especially across the field and its pretty muted for the entire game. When Southern's band played during the game, they were much louder.

Once again, it doesnt matter. We, as in the people who pay and donate to the athletic department, can't hear you. Plus, if we could, it is still no where near funny. You talked about SU's band being classless, but spelling tand chanting those things are classless and juvenile.
