The SU fans were great and the band was even better. That was one of the best atmospheres I've been in for a college football game. I wish the ratio of Cajun Fans to SU fans would have been better but the mere fact that we put that many people into the stadium speaks volumes. I would love to get a more consistent game with SU together in the future. _

I enjoyed it as well, I tailgated for the most part with an old friend that graduate from USL.

I know you guys really enjoyed yourself because for alot of you (which was really shocking) it was the first time they ever saw da Nation in action, but don't get to ahead of yourselves in wanting a repeat performance, the outcome may not be the same.

You don't think the Southern band will be that good the next time? Just kidding...

I was extremely impressed with the fan showing by Southern. I've seen the band before and expected nothing less than fantastic. I hope we meet again on a 4 year basis or so... people get carried away thinking that it would be like this past Saturday year in and year out.

Well then you need to first develop a running game outside of Lee and get McGinty more experience and develop some receivers since you are losing most of your playmakers.

Well you know it all depends on how each team is fairing in their receptive conference and the benefit factor.

From what I hear and saw SU fan enjoyed the visit even though everything wasn't as quite accommodating as they are accustom too, but it was a first and all in all I think it went well.

Yeah it looks that way doesn't it? Actually from what I saw the shift had less to do with the offense and more to do with our defensive co. dropping into a soft zone after we had taken the lead and control of the game, hat allowed your young quarterback to sit and take his time getting comfortable making play and totally took momentum away form us.

But hey, like I said it was a great game despite the outcome and for us it doesn't affect our years goal so hopefully it's a learning tool for all involved.

We all enjoyed it... and thanks for coming on here and giving us the feedback. It is very difficult to accomodate a "Superdome-like" crowd with our facilities. Despite the obvious pinches in concessions, seating, parking and the like... I thought it went down extremely well.

I guess I'm that kind of guy that plans as best I can... but will not allow inconvenience issues to get in the way of my good time. I pity those who can't do the same.

Before this interface "goes south" as these things seem prone to do, I want to say that I was excited about this game from Day 1 and I was elated with the crowd and atmosphere and, of course, with the outcome on the field. I hope all my Jag friends who attended managed to "pass a good time".

Whether we do it again is as we all know about the money but Southern fans cannot find a better road trip in terms of OOC games. The only thing close to a return trip to Cajun Field would be going back to the Dome against Tulane or to LSU and I have to ask what are the real chances for either of those?

We still have a couple of open spots on our 2011 schedule and then beyond that.

One thing I saw was the value of an opening home game vs. a winnable opponent. That cannot be overstated. This is what most BCS schools do to kick off their seasons with a win and to work out the early season bugs. Other than a good payday, it serves no good to do like ULM did with a 59-12 loss to Texas or WKU's huge loss to Tennessee, or FAU's big loss to Nebraska, etc. Next year, we open vs. Georgia on the road. I hope in future years, we find a way to open at home. I think this win vs. Southern will make a huge difference in our second game vs. K State and in our going to a bowl game this year.

    No way.

I predict 10-13 thousand less. In other words 28-31 thousand.

Which reminds me I need to go put this in the prediction thread.

Well that's a great number, in TVland it'll be blackout.

    True, true.

Although I think if this were NFL TV-Land 31G+ would get a blackout lifted.
