Until we are in a better conference or can go undefeated we are probably stuck in the New Orleans bowl, there could be worse places to be stuck.

I pretty much agree. If it's going to be a small bowl, then NO Bowl is the best site for fans to attend. However, if it just so happen to fall into place, that a great opponent were at one of the other less desirable bowls, then I think as a program we should take it. Just as an example, let's say South Carolina in the Independence, then even though it's not a great location, for the sake of playing a better known opponent, we should take it, imo.

The Duck Commander Bowl has tie-ins with the SEC (9 teams) and the ACC (7 teams), so which team are we going to beat out to go to a bowl that we have no tie in to?
---Great post M-Rock---I guess our only, although a huge one, chance rests in our ability to bring more people than any other school to the game---AS the afore mentioned benefits stated, I would take it over the other Bowls and the chance that the Saints take away our lodging!!!

As far as I'm. concerned, the only bowl bigger than the New Orleans Bowl is the Sugar Bowl ... and its associates.

The NOLA bowl has some drawbacks this year compared to they past few years but all in all it's still not a bad place to be. There are tons of things to do in. We don't have to worry about weather. With the Mountain West tie in this year we will have a decided advantage over who ever we play.

One of the drawbacks mention was the early start time, which in my eyes, only gives us more time to celebrate after a Cajuns win.

If you use the NOLA Bowl rates, they aren't that bad

I owe you a brewski or 6 if we are accepted to the NOLA bowl. Didn't even realize these prices were out there because I usually book through bookit, hotwire, etc....

    People.

Last year, in Mobile, they had sleet all day.

    Montgomery? Really?

Until we are promised a P5 opponent somewhere else, there is no substitute for NOLA.

People forget Bowls are strictly about money. NOLA is the only bowl we stand to make a profit on. We will not take more than 20k to any bowl other than NOLA. I plan to go to whatever bowl we go to but I booked my rooms this past Saturday night in New Orleans.

See you all in NOLA Dec 20th.

I am with you on this. When you take out "indoors" and then take out "New Orleans", my group drops from 15 people to 2. That's because some are alumni from Houston and will not drive that far (Alabama) to be outside and take a chance on freezing their Azzes off, and some are wives and daughters who like what NOLA has to offer (plus game inside). That only leaves me and my brother in law willing to go to the "nasty" bowls. This applies for a lot of people across the board. Of course, many people on RP just cannot understand why our crowd will drop from 40K to 15K when we go to one of the "nasty" bowls.
