Ragin' Cajuns' RB Sails ready to strut stuff

  UL - Undrea Sails has endured a long wait in his college football career.

Injuries, transfers, position changes and questions by the NCAA about his academic eligibility have kept Sails from showing his running skills at the Division I level.

Sails' wait will be finally over Saturday night at Cajun Field when he's set to start at tailback in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's season opener against Southern.

The 200-pound senior has waited five years for a chance like Saturday's game.

"(ULL) picked me up late," Sails said. "(Former UL assistant Brian Jennings) saw some film on me and I guess he liked what he saw. I talked to (ULL coach Rickey Bustle) and the other coaches. (ULL coaches) said they were going to stick with me all the way, so I kind of gave up on the other schools.

"All these things in my career have been difficult. The last year I went to (junior college), I was recruited as a defensive back, played fullback and then I was late in coming (to UL). Then when I got (to UL) I got some playing time against Kansas State and then I got hurt.

I'm not as offended as some others about the name stuff. I really don't care how the Baton Rouge (Media) refers to us. However, it seems as if every other word Sails said was replaced to fit thier agenda. With that many changes, it should no longer be considered a quote from a player.
