Thread: Schedule AAC Schools

  1. #1

    Default Schedule AAC Schools

Upgrading the Cajuns sports schedule is easier said than done. But why not focus on scheduling an AAC team every year in football, basketball, baseball, softball, etc. go for home and home. Cajuns want to join the AAC someday, let's make a goal of playing AAC teams every year building up relationships across their conference.

In either case it takes money and relationships to get it done.

The Cajuns owe Tulane a trip. And, they've scheduled a home and home with Tulsa.

It makes sense to do that, if possible, in football and basketball, but, other than Tulane and Houston in baseball, and Houston and Tulsa in softball, there are stronger teams closer to us in baseball and softball than other teams in AAC.

SMU, UH, Tulane, & maybe Tulsa/Memphis are about the only relative schools that offer reasonable travel for fans. We need to make sure we keep tapping into this group for H&H games.

Two games against AAC and two money games against P5 teams each year would be great. Stop scheduling FCS schools.

I would still take advantage of the FCS win for bowl eligibility right now. Reducing our money games to 1 is more important than eliminating the FCS games. IMO

I would think this is more about building relationships with teams that will get us into another conference.

I didn't think that FCS wins count towards bowl eligibility.

Yes it does. Only one a year though.
